Not a toy
Parents have a bunch of toy flashlights - so frustrating when visiting and every flashlight in the house is nearly useless. Bought one of these and a selection of others to see if I can give them a few good lights, and surreptitiously "lose" the ones they have now. This came with batteries. It was the most expensive of the batch I bought to test. I turned it on and my first impression was "wow." This is bright for such a tiny thing. It's a flood light - produces an oval swath of light. There is no spot. Light just gets progressively dimmer out to the outside of the wide spread of light. I believe the 170 lumens is reasonable. Now for the nitpicks. It uses three AAA batteries that fit snugly. Had to pound the light onto my hand to get the last battery out. The battery end cap goes on with a push and quarter turn twist. I don't like those because my experience is that they eventually break - either the body or the cap - making the device incapable of containing the batteries. This light is small. The handle part is only 2-1/2" long and 5/8" wide. The whole thing is less then 6-3/8" long. The switch is on the top and is fairly stiff. My parent's arthritic hands will have trouble with it. The magnet in the clip is not big/strong enough to hold the light in a horizontal position on a vertical surface - so that you could direct the light up or down. The weight of the batteries in the handle make it droop to a vertical orientation. What I like: For such a small light it is a good flood light. It takes common AAA batteries. The plastic body is a sturdy material that can take some abuse. This yellow one would be harder to misplace. The LED lens is thick sturdy plastic - won't break into sharp shards if dropped. It doesn't get hot like many LED lights. I've turned it on and off about 50 times and it's had about 2 hours of run time on the original batteries without noticeable dimming. The 170 lumens is believable. The color of the light is quite natural. I shined it into my closet and all the clothes look the right color - unlike most cheap lights - or even moderately priced or some expensive ones. Glad with the purchase so far.Btw - the lead description says "Powerful magnetic base." That's not true for this item. Magnet is imbedded in the plastic of the pocket clip. It will hold it onto a magnetic surface without sliding off, but previous comment still applies.

Feel the overwhelming confidence wrapping your hands on your own little Larry gives you. At work, school, church, everywhere.
As if this flashlight needed anything going for it beyond its amazing durability which instills confidence like a double wrap on prom night, or the instense bright cob led which will light up the entire room so you don't I mean your kids don't have to be afraid of the dark, or the super compact size that would fit in almost any hipster dudes skinniest of skinny jeans (that is totally a joke, you and I both know ain't nothing fitting in there) they took it a step further and out classed the competition and left no reason to look back.Yup, the icing on the cake is that you will be the proud owner of your very own little Larry. No more sounding like a dweeb, "hey babe I am just gonna grab my flashlight and run to the store to grab some Tamps so I can be back before Gilmore Girls starts". Nope now with confidence you can say, "hey babe, can you or one of you sisters put your tops on and grab me a brewski, 3 Oreo cookies, and my Larry so I can assist the swat team in finding that bank robber."Finally piece of mind.

The little light that can!
Well... What more can i say about the little light that can? This thing rocks! I own previous models and the new models. The new model has a one full strip led ("c-o-b technology with 170 lumens) and the old version has eight small led's but to be honest, i can't tell the difference. The applications are endless for this light as many people is the working field can reap the benefits, from car mechanics, plumbers, to contractors. Its a good size, at around, say 3 to 4 inches, weighs next to nothing and the contructions practically indestructible! Its functions are pretty simple as the one click push buttons located at the top, battery compartments located at the bottom, where twisting the cap will give you access to the 3 AAA batteries (lasting at around 5 to 7 hours, depending on usage) that come included with purchase. The star of the show for me, is the magnetic clip (located at the top behind the light) in which you can swivel 160 degress left to right, giving you full handsfree operation, or clip it in your pocket:) Think i made my point. Wide Light Field
Wow! This little light packs a punch, casting bright white light over a much wider swath and longer distance than similar sized LED's having individual diodes in a row. I use it camping for cooking in the dark and illuminating the whole tent and for checking oil, etc. under the hood on road trips. It''s small and light weight, so much better than a lantern. Some reviewers have noted that the magnet isn't strong enough to hold the unit horizontally (true), but it is strong enough to secure it vertically without sliding downward if placed on a decent steel surface. The build seems strong, not cheap like a lot of other plastic bodieds lights I've tried. I'll be buying a few more of these to leave in my car and work vehicle. Well worth the price paid here on Amazon!

Use to think these where the best ever until they started acting like every other pos small lights out there. Bought 5 for me and a few guys that I work with and 4of the 5 literally started to fail. The terminal that contact the batteries fail really fast and the light become a strobe light only staying on when it feels like it deeming it useless when really needed. With that being said def won't be buys a nebo light any time soon. 1st gen worked amazing these new ones are junk. Go back to your old manufacturing people/system nebo! please.

Not water resistant, but a very bright practical lamp
Very bright and useful, according to manufacturer it should last 5hours on full batteries, it uses 3xAAA and they are already included. The magnet in the swivel clip is strong enough to hold the weight of the torch and batteries.Took some stars off because on the packaging it says that the lamp is water and shock resistant construction, maybe it can take some impact, but its certainly not water resistant as there aren't any seals at all around the electronic parts, splash proof it is a bit, but not water resistant.Only worth the price as it is one of the brightest pocket inspection lamps available and is very lightweight.
