Great product works as advertised
I used my Time Insert for an oil pan on my motorcycle, the oil drain became stripped. The time inter was easy to used and install. It works great

What I trust
For use cases where you plan on using the threaded area a lot (eg oil drain plug, or other commonly accessed threaded hole) I think time-serts take the cake. Other products like Heli-coils are great for certain uses, but when you need bulletproof reliability I prefer time-serts. The kit is great, the tap, bit, counter-sink tool, etc., are great and I've used them more than once without issue.I've had two time-serts holding my flywheel on my track car for over 8 years now with no issues. Just added another to my oil pan's drain plug. No issues, very easy to install.

Exceptional Quality, Beats The Competition!
When the previous owner of my R1200GS swapped the drain and fill plugs on my final drive, the result was two destroyed sets of threads. So the choice was a $2100 final drive, a Helicoil, or the Time-sert.Since the Time-sert had no risk of a metal tab getting loose in the final drive, and the inserts are hardened vs wire, decided it was worth the extra money (5x more money....) to get it.Man, am I glad I did! The quality of the tooling was absolutely exceptional. We used a hand driver to drill the hole (very tight tolerances to the internal gears) and went very slow (20-30 minutes) on the first one. Went in flawlessly! The insertion tool rolled the bottom threads, and the counter bore really assured a clean set. The second one went faster (10-15 minutes) since we knew what we were doing and it was flawless. Can't tell you how impressed I am with Time-sert. Never going back to a cheap wire coil!

Worked very well!!!
M12x1.5 Used this on a 2004 TTR125 oil plug. Worked really well, better than a helicoil. If motor is together, put oil in case so it drains while using the cutting pieces. You do need to get a hand tap handle, 0 to 3/4”, do it all by hand and take your time. Seems hard but we’ll worth it! Plus do not over tighten again…. LOL

Great solution to an annoying problem.
BMW X5 oil pans, not fun. I knew something was fishy when the bolt wasn't coming out nice. After it wouldn't tighten, I knew I was going to have problems, and the googling began. I came across helicoils first, but I didn't like the design since it was basically just a coiled thread. Next, I found Time Sert thanks to a YouTube video on oil plug repairs. I really liked the cylindrical design, and was even happier when I found out the top "mushrooms" out once you drive it in. Oil leak is fixed, and haven't had a drop spill since install. All in all, honestly it was a very scary process for me, especially when I was tapping the threads with the die, but if I could successfully pull it off with how bad my hands were shaking, I imagine most any mechanic with some knowledge can do it. Good luck!
