Fine until it stops working
Was good at first, but then stopped working. Won't connect, won't charge, I've tried all the troubleshooting advice and it won't even connect via USB to my computer or switch onPast the return window, so I have now spent a lot of money on a useless item I can't return.

Good scanner for documents; for photos not so much
I bought this (the black version) online (not from Amazon) when I lost the cable for my original Doxie scanner (which I believe was a proprietary cable, and the product was discontinued so I couldn’t replace the cable) and my Doxie Flip decided to break on me. It works great for documents as you can just put the document in (be careful if it’s not straight as the resulting PDF page will come out messy and you may have to start again depending on how readable the document is) press the button, and scan multiple pages and press the button again when finished. For that it’s great. For photos, it’s not bad. It’s possible (but also it’s made for documents not photos) but not the best. Even tho I had it set to 600DPI for scanning my photos, sometimes it would scan at 600DPI and sometimes at 72 DPI. Sometimes it would take me 3 or 4 consecutive attempts to get it to scan in 600DPI rather than 72 (using it to scan and digitise old family photos). Maybe it was just a dodgy unit, but I most likely didn’t realise this until after the returns window closed, and I don’t want to be checking after every single scan, as I have a tonne of images, so I’ve moved on to one that’s made for photos rather than documents. After using the Plustek ePhoto which is slightly less portable as it has to be plugged into the mains as well as a laptop (which I find better, once I got past all the software issues. The main issues with that one for me seem to be with the auto cropping and deskewing, so I've switched that off, and manually crop the images) is I had images which were ruined with lined banding. I thought that was from the images itself, but it turns out that was from the Fujitsu ScanSnap, I've had no issues withe the PlusTek. If you scan mostly documents with the occasional photo, go for this, if you want to scan more than the occasional photo, go for the PlusTek, which also has basic photo editing software for things like Contrast, white balance, etc which really helped me restore my mum's wedding photos from 30 years ago. Also the PlusTek has the ability to save in other formats like TIFF which is brilliant when it comes to archiving family photos

Not compatible
This was not compatible with my new slimline M1 chip Mac, had to return.

Scan quality is good, software quality is lacking and hardware can be less flimsy
the main body is pretty sturdy but the small try feels like they are going to break any moment, maybe a thicker plastic will help? The wi-fi connection is quite slow to engage, the USB instantaneus. Sometime it freezes without apparent reason and the software looks and feels, in general, designed and implemented in 1990s. But the scan quality is good and it-does-the-job, plus is uber-portable. So far, I'm satisfied in overall, maybe I had to manage my "Japanese quality" expectation a bit more.
