Easy install
Great product and easy to install. Hasn’t moved since I put it in and works great for the holster I added.

Sturdy rig, no drilling required.
The Gum Creek holster allowed me to drive long distances getting my 1911 out of my side. My side rig did not dig while driving, but pulling it out if needed would not be easy with seat belts and clothing material in the way. This solution fit perfectly on my GMC Seirra. It was tricky getting the webbing tight to reduce sagging. My holster (does not come with product) has a spare mag pouch and this rig holds everything securely. Now, depending on your clearance between your knee and dash will determine if knee will be hit occasionally when transitioning between gas and brake (and vice versa). It is close to hitting my knees (I'm 5'8"), but doesn't unless I do something abnormal (like jump off seat when a wasp lands in my lap... Knee knock was well worth it!). I really like the fact that I didn't have to drill any holes and I can move to another vehicle if needed.

Works very well
I use this with a UTG Deluxe Ambidextrous Belt Holster mounted in a 2007 FJ Cruiser. It works very well and I did not have to order the extension or adapter kit. The adjusting strap is a bit stiff at first, and you may have to fight it a bit when you first install. The Velcro on the mount worked perfectly with the Velcro on the holster, so installation was a breeze once I decided how I wanted it mounted. This keeps the gun well out of the way of my legs, but within easy reach. On the FJ, the gun is out of the sight-line of a casual observer, but not completely concealed. With the door closed and window up, it is hard to see from the drivers side, but it is visible from the passenger side. This system fit my requirements of being easy to access but not needing any mounting holes drilled.

Good Idea but I had a few problems
Great concept and it did work really well with the exception of two things... the lower hook had the wrong kind of angle to fit over the lower edge of the steering column shroud and while I was struggling with it (and bear in mind that I wasn't really trying to force it because I didn't want to damage the steering column shroud) the sewing that was holding the lower hook in place just gave way. I gathered up the parts (loose hook, rest of harness, etc...) and set them aside. I'll eventually get around to redoing the stitching but for now I've pretty much looked for other solutions. The angle of the hook was PROBLEMATIC but not a problem in the design. The reason it wasn't working for ME was because of the heavier steering column of my truck not because of any deficiencies the design of the hook itself. The stitching, on the other hand, surprised me. On one end of the harness it was very well done and very sturdy and reinforced in a "square" filled with a "X" pattern of stitching. On the end that gave way it looks like only one side of the "square" was stitched and nothing of the reinforcing "X" stitching. The only thing that I can think of is that for some reason the stitching on that end was interrupted somehow and just got passed on without it being completed. It happens. So, I'll fix it and use it in my car which doesn't have as thick a steering column shroud as my truck does.

Great idea, poor execution...very disappointed
The concept, the pics, the description...all made me happy about this mount at first. But then I received it, and attempted to install it, to find out it was junk. It is not as adjustable as it needs to be, and likely fits very few cars vs. "most vehicles", since manufacturers use curved interior trim, with tight tolerances these days. You'd have to drive a vehicle from the 80's or 90's for this to qork at all. Sure, there is an "adapter" you can purchase separately, but that is just a strap that goes around your steering column. A strap?! So, if your looking for a secure, clean vehicle mount... This is not it. If your looking for a clunky, cheap, back yard engineered, overpriced wad of strap, get this mount.

Very cool option for car carry
Generally this is great to have as a second option in addition to EDC while driving—just an added layer of protection. And most importantly, it looks cool!I use this for my Taurus G3 in a soft universal holster, which was a big challenge to rig onto the steering wheel mount (had to slit a couple holes in the foam and run the mount Velcro bands thru). A hard holster would have been easier, but I like the feel of it now. If you’re right handed for example, you will want to use a strong side IWB beltclip holster.

Great Product all around. Don't listen to any negative reviews until reading mine.
Outstanding. Finally got the product I have been looking for. This WILL fit MOST vehicles. They provide you measurements to confirm placement prior to purchase. Look on gum creeks website. They show you how to install it. They show you what desingn your vehicle needs for this to work. Most vehicles have this. They sell an adaptor if your vehicle is one of the few that doesn't. The buyer must use some effort to look at this. One negative review complained that it doesn't come with a holster?!They tell you that it doesn't ! You can buy one or use your own. Get an ambidextrous holster and you will be good. Just need one with a belt loop or clip. The device can be easily tightened. It will not sag as someone said if you do it right. Buy this. Its cheap and good quality.
