To Build a Fire and Other Tales of the North

Brilliant, touching
Jack London is the Master of short stories from Wild and Cold West, comparable, to me with Zola and Maupassant's mastery !

Good Frontier Tales
"To Build a Fire" is perhaps London's best story. It lacks the overwriting of some of the other stories, and is spare and stark in presenting the elemental problem of survival.London's stories are worthwhile in bringing to life his unique experiences in the Alaskan frontier
