Great Contemp Rom-Com
Such a great contemporary romance. I love that Samiah is an inadvertent social media, after she and two other women, soon to become friends, are captured on video giving an unscrupulous man his comeuppance. Daniel makes a great, sympathetic hero, and the heat between them is HOT hot. The dilemma certain to keep them apart seems unsolvable, and the secondary characters are engaging and fun.

Great Project!
I enjoyed the journey of Daniel and Samari. This book was cute, sexy, and tinged with a little drama! The Sisterhood is what I loved the most in this 📖!

Some mucho mess
I liked the idea for this story. I only have a slight problem with the lies. I get that Daniel was doing his job, and Samiah was collateral damage. Otherwise, the love story was the sweetest. And a really good read.

Great Rom-Com and couple
Loved it. Fresh take on rom-com with successful black heroine and hero, Samiah and Daniel. Samiah who becomes a viral video sensation after she and two other ladies, Taylor and London all find out that they have been dating and duped by the same guy, Craig takes him down at a restaurant while a customer videos and uploads. Samiah and the ladies are the talk of Austin everywhere they go and come up with the Boyfriend Project to work on themselves and find their life's truth. Daniel a new employee at her job checks on her without trying to get into the video craze. He is an undercover federal agent hired by the company Samiah works for Trendsetters and is trying to bust the money laundering ring but he is attracted to Samiah and never mixes business with pleasure on his short undercover stints. Unfortunately, the chemistry between the two is undeniable and takes off. What is he going to do as he gets closer to Samiah, but definitely have to leave when the job is over. As their relationship grows, Samiah opens up to Daniel and reveals things she never felt comfortable telling like her app she is creating. Everything is going well until Daniel makes the big bust and everything he has told her she questions even his name. The story moved along smoothly with secondary characters and work situations that everyone encounters at some point or other. Look forward to reading Book #3 London's story as I read book 2 with Taylor before reading this one.

Lives up to the hype
I have BOTM and bookstagram for continuing to plug this book in my feed until I wised up and bought my own copy. And it was one of the best decisions I’ve made.I really enjoyed the book. It had all the makings of a really good contemporary romance with a little bit of mystery and action. Samiah was the perfect lead. She is a brilliant computer engineer who is dominating in a predominantly white male field. I was completely in awe of her persona and the confidence she exuded in profession and personal life. She was a force not to be reckoned with because she worked hard in every aspect of her life. If there was a character I would strive to be, it would be Samiah. The friendship between these women is truly remarkable. I loved watching them be there for each other, stand up for each other, and encourage each other in every aspect of their life. They met over crap circumstances and could have easily dismissed eachother off, but instead they took control over their situation and made something beautiful from it.The way the author wrote this was effortlessly good. She had you entertained and laughing, but also your heart was invested in this story, rooting for these characters' own personal triumphs. The multitude of the depth of these characters was inspiring. It was so refreshing to see a woman who was a computer engineer and excelled in her field rather than a stereotypical occupation. It’s rare to find diversity in occupation in romance books and I applause the author for thinking outside the box with this. I also appreciate that the author dove into the complexities of what it is like for not only a woman, but a woman of color to have a prestigious position and the intricacies and demands that position would entail. One of the reasons I prefer first person perspective over third person is because you get a closer connection with each character. I love being able to read inner thoughts or feel exactly how the character is feeling because they describe it in their own words. This book is unique because though it was written in third person, I got all the amazing feelings as if it was written in first person. The author was able to convey the exact feels and thoughts without the disconnect that is often associated with a third person narrative.I really enjoyed this book and I’m so excited to see what is next for this author and fingered cross this is a series where Taylor and London each get a book. Now if you will excuse me while I go find a job that has weekly competitions that lead to massage and strawberry and kiwi smoothies or ice cream lunches.

Slightly steamy romance
Samiah has just had a lucky escape from a guy who liked to have more than one girlfriend at a time, unfortunately this was caught on camera and went viral. Samiah along with London and Taylor create a friendship out of this and in turn create a pact. That they would focus on themselves before any more boyfriends.I really enjoyed this romance novel, I liked that Samiah had a high flying job in tech, the book touches on the difficulty Samiah faces within this role and getting to where she has.I liked the characters and the friendships and it had me laughing as well as cringing.Danny the undercover detective that comes on the scene was lovely too and I liked the way he acted with Samiah. There wasn't and overload of steam in this one, but I would still highly recommend it and I shall be buying the next one in the series when it is out.

I really liked this story. The descriptions were great, really showed the issues that a young black woman might face climbing the career ladder in her industry, coupled with a romance that burned bright.
