I love it, especially I have mounted in my modular case! I will post pics and videos.
Nothing, it’s wonderful

Edit the config.txt file for Raspberry Pi usage
Edit: after about a year of very minimal use, the touch function stopped working entirely. I’ve tried on Mac, Linux, and Windows and it just doesn’t respond to any touch inputs. I tried re-seating the ribbon cables in the connectors but it made no difference. The LCD still works fine though. Dropped stars from 4 to 2.Plugged into my Windows laptop, this screen worked perfectly right out of the box. The instructions on the sale page for working with a Raspberry Pi are incorrect. This page says to add [the hdmi_drive=1] to the config.txt file, but this won't get you a working screen. You will need to add the following in order to get correct resolution:max_usb_current=1hdmi_group=2hdmi_mode=87hdmi_cvt 1024 600 60 6 0 0 0hdmi_drive=1Once that was done, it started working great with my Pi. The color and backlight are decent for this type of screen. You won't be doing any color correcting of photos on it, but it looks fine watching movies and using an OS. There was some noticeable banding in darker areas watching some videos, but not too distracting. My only real complaint is the placement of the ports. There is a lot of unused space on the circuit board, and I would have preferred if the ports had been placed somewhere in the middle, so that the screen could be integrated into a compact case along with the computer, or mounted inside of a smaller space just larger than the screen. As it is with the ports on the side, it's hard to do something like mount this in a car dashboard or build a handheld rPi device, because you have the USB and HDMI cables sticking an inch or more out of the side.

Sharp and responsive IPS touchscreen that plays well with the Raspberry Pi.
Overall I am satisfied with the performance of the Waveshare 7" 1024 x600 IPS touchscreen. Works well as a frontend for Octoprint, e.g. OctoScreen. One clear drawback is that while there is an on/off switch for the backlight, it is not easily accessible when mounted inside a case. That said, there is a straightforward mod that allows one to trigger the backlight on and off by GPIO - if one is inclined towards light soldering, or even pair with a motion sensor to turn the backlight on when needed. It would make more sense to integrate a breakout pin to more easily control the backlight...but for the price and functionality it is still all right.

the quality of the images on the screen is dark and not easy to see
The screen is dark and even though the backlight is on it is not easy to see, also the touch screen is not very sensitive it does not always work.. I ended up buying another 7 inch touch screen made for raspberry or other mini pc and it works much better, I will just keep this one as an emergency backup.....
