Very dense
There is a lot of information in this book, but there are so many ill-defined and overlapping movements of a temporary nature that it is hard to grasp. At the beginning, female pioneers are acknowledged in the foreword (for example Hilda af Klint), but I didn’t feel the text had been revised adequately to accommodate them.

An informative and enjoyable read
Abstract Art isn't an easy subject to understand, but Anna Moszynska's clear, concise and engaging style of writing brings the whole movement and its history into context brilliantly. With immense knowledge and insight, she charts its history from the very start of the 20th century right up to the present day, in this updated version of her original book. Peppered with stunning colour reproductions, it's more than just a coffee table book and more than just a text book, it's something you can delve in and out of and find something inspiring and interesting on every page. A must buy for art history students, as well as art lovers in general.

Sure there are better (in terms of pictures) books covering this subject
Its a shame as so many of the pictures are in black and white. Some colour but when discussing art you need large colour pics and this book is not the one. Sure there are better (in terms of pictures) books covering this subject.
