This book is a welcomed addition to the history of race in the American West. Sarah Bickford's journey is truly fascinating. Laura J. Arata has woven a brilliant narrative and it was a very enjoyable read. I give this book a 10/10! I will definitely be reading it again!

This was such an interesting, timely and extensively researched book. The author did a wonderful job of bringing alive a fascinating and inspirational woman that has previously been overlooked by history. This is a must read for anyone interested in American history.

Always like to read about little-known people who were trailblazers. Appreciate the research and commitment to the author to craft this excellent story.

This is a great book. Thorough and well researched and provides an important look at the life of an incredibly interesting woman while giving an entirely different view of what went on the in “Wild West”
