It's a traditional bike bell with a traditional bike bell sound. But the plastic bell body is very thin (though this shouldn't affect reliability) and, importantly, the plastic lever feels very cheap; I'm skeptical about its long term viability and would have preferred to have spent a little more on a bell with a better quality lever; however, I gave it 4 stars overall and for value because it works and because of how inexpensive (and thus cheaply replaceable) it is. But if you need to use a bell more than occasionally, or just want a bell that seems like it will be reliable long term, consider spending a little more for better quality.

I bought two bells one for my wife’s bike and one for my bike. The bell it’s self works fine but it doesn’t fit all bikes. Look at the pictures and you’ll be able to see. It fits my wife’s bike fine but not mine. It’s too small for a handle bar that has wrapping around the handlebars. You could cut the wrapping off, but then the ends would have to be taped down. I did not want to ruin the way the bike looked. Again just look at pictures and let them help you decide.

I often pass by people on a city owned walk/bike trail and many would seem surprised when I passed by them. While this doesn't always help when people are wearing earbud or headphones, it has helped alert other people I when I am fixing to pass by them so they are not shocked or stunned.

Much needed for cyclists who live in cities where pedestrians don't understand the concept of cycle lanes, this bell is loud enough for the most docile of zombies

I bought it for a student’s walker, I was tired of people stopping in his way and acting like they didn’t hear him. It didn’t really fit because his handles are bigger around than a bike, but we zip tied it and it works.

I like to create as little friction as possible when I share multi-use paths with other pedestrians. This has a mellow sound that alerts walkers / joggers without startling them.I have tried bells with a spring loaded mallet and that mechanism fails frequently. With this, every single time I try to ring it works.My only complaint is that it takes up a lot of real estate on my handlebars. If I ever want to add a phone holder or headlight I might run out of space. In my current setup I gladly choose the bell with a bigger footprint and superior function

I bought a two pack, because I needed two, but I only received one. Half a dozen times on the product page it says "2 pack" but halfway down the page, in one single place in the fine print, it says "Package include 1 x bike bell" so apparently I was supposed to know it was not a two pack at all.

plastic clamp barely fit on handle bar. When I started to tighten the screw, the nut housed inside the plastic clamp spun and I couldn't tighten or loosen the screw and had to use a dremel to cut into the clamp to get the screw and nut away to get bell off

Had to use the zip strap to mount it.
