Great when it works
Work great when it worked. Went to use it today and the plastic tab broke off and for some reason with the pryme blu handdmic i just bought it receives the audio but want key the radio. It's not the mic though I connected it to one of my other Bluetooth adapters and it worked fine

Great item but wrong title.
While this item worked as it is supposed to, it is a different version sold by the manufacturer. This was not mentioned in the item description. Returned item bought the one I wanted from another source. I should noted that seller did respond and offer to replace item with proper one. Buyer beware and do your research. Both items are great but for me the older version is better

Great accessory for your Kenwood radio
Great accessory for your Kenwood radio. Allows you to hide the fact you're wearing a radio and makes you just look like a douchebag with a bluetooth--the guy nobody pays attention to. You can get a bluetooth PTT button and nobody will know you're working security.

Works great so far!
Bought one of these from a different seller. I'm using it on a Kenwood Nexedge NX200. For these radios, per Pryme, you need the BT-511, NOT the BT-511-S which is for a few specific ones. Pryme's literature is a little out dated. Their information on their site says when the adapter is on the radio, you have to use the PTT button on the adapter itself. However, you actually can use the radio's PTT button as well. The picture above is of an older model, too. The current model has a black PTT button, but at the top, in the center of the button, you can look down and see the blue LED light, instead of the whole thing blinking BRIGHT blue. Very happy they updated that as it is an officer safety issue. To pair: The manual said to hold down the button, and then turn on the radio with the button held down. Then hold for 3 secs until the light is blinking 2 times per sec. On the previous model you could release the button and it would stay in pair mode. On this new one, I had to keep the button held down for it to pair. It paired very quickly though.Headset: I asked Pryme which bluetooth headsets work better with their adapters. They said to stay away from Motorola and a few others (wish I could remember which ones) as the bluetooth technology didn't work the best with their adapters. Pryme recommended Plantronics brand and specifically stated the Voyager line as the best to work with their adapters. I paired a Plantronics Voyager Legend to it. Paired very quickly and so far after about a week it works like a charm. If the headset is not on/connected to the adapter, the radio mic and speaker work as normal. When connected, it all works through the headset. The nice thing about the Plantronics Voyager Legend are the sensors in it that can tell if it's on your ear. When it's not on the ear, it disconnects and the radio works normal. When you put in on the ear, the headset reconnects and everything goes through the headset. When the radio is on, the adapter takes over use of the headset and won't allow use of your phone via headset at the same time.Radio traffic: It's instant, both receiving and transmitting. There's no delay at all. On our radios we've even got the built in "beep" when you key up and it doesn't affect a thing with the adapter.Customer service: Their CS is great. The first one I bought had an issue and they had me send it to them to check for warranty work. They got it, checked it and turned around and sent me a brand new one, which ended up even being the newer model than the one I sent in. NICE! Also, talked to them a couple times prior to purchase and they were very helpful. The size of the adapter is about the same as the connection for my corded Kenwood mic if I had it hooked up to the radio.I don't know how durable the adapter will be though. I don't know what kind of impacts and all it could handle so that makes me a little nervous, especially as expensive as this little thing is. It's all plastic with a metal screw that secures it to the radio.Overall though it's great being wire free, especially in plain clothes.02-10-2018: Disappointed.I quit using this about 2 years ago. It couldn't maintain connection and I got tired of messing with it. I even tried it with a second plantronics voyager and it didn't help. It still needs some work. Wished it worked like it's supposed to. Our whole department might have went to them.
