Incredibly simple southern cuisine at it finest
Great chef and an exceptional personality, Louis was a standout on the early days of the food network with Emeril. I was lucky enough to work as a server at his downtown, Charleston SC restaurant about 17 years ago. His wife, Marleen is a remarkable person as well. I can assure you that his recipes are top notch! You won't be disappointed with this book.

Chef Olsteen is a Gem!
I am blessed to live in Pawleys Island where Chef Olsteen currently has a restaurant, Louis's at Sanford's. he also use to have another place here years ago. His cookbook has been out of print for 10 years but I can always find it online, in perfect condition, dust jacket and all. This is the 3rd one I've ordered. I get them so he can autograph them then they are auctioned off for charities in a gourmet gift basket. Chef Olsteen always includes a gift certificate to add to the basket. Not only is he a great Chef but a nice generous man as well!! My books are always delivered fast and most of the time shipping included.

reading with the senses
reading the cookbook, alone, is enough to make my mouth water. the commentator on the back of the dust cover must be correct: ''good lord, can the man cook!"

Louis made the BEST shrimp and grits EVER. Miss you, Louis!! You could really make a plate sing.

This out of print book is worth searching for. The she crab soup recipe justifies the cost of the book. Osteen is one of a kind.
