Classic Carly Phillips!
The Right Choice is a wonderful classic from Carly Phillips. The first in her Unexpected Love series, Carly tells us the story of a young woman struggling with past pain and misconceptions of marriage and a world traveling journalist who has yet to deal with the pain of losing his parents and the feelings of abandonment.Carly Wexler finds herself stuck between a rock and a hard place. After watching her parents face the difficult task of rebuilding a marriage after an affair, Carly is determined to have a marriage based on respect and common goals. Love and passion have no place in her idea of marriage. She saw the damage that it can do. She makes a safe, predictable and very boring choice in Pete Novack. A lawyer in her father's firm, Pete is on track to becoming a partner and he knows that his friend turned fiancee is the key to his new position. It doesn't matter that he doesn't love her. She's his ticket to money and security. Neither of them expected Pete's brother, Mike, to turn everything upside down! What Mike felt for Carly was instant, scary and thrilling. But how could he feel this deeply for his brother's fiancee? After an assignment left him seriously injured and feeling unsure of his career, coming home for his brother's wedding should have been the reset that he needed to return to work. But he never counted on Carly. She nothing he expected and everything that he wants. Still he knows that he's going to hurt her if he becomes involved with her. He has to return to the war zone and complete his assignment. His brother isn't any better for her either. Can he be a friend to Carly only and help her to stand on her own? Can they deny the chemistry and the longing that they feel when they are together? The Right Choice was such a sweet, angsty read. Carly and Mike made me crazy in parts. They made me laugh and sigh. Pete and Carly's parents also made the story a worthwhile read. There is a great story of forgiveness and rebuilding what was once lost. I enjoyed this one very much! Solid story with a really nice ending!

GOOD READ...
I really liked this story. The hero was YUMMY. The heroine had some issues. Having lived thru the scandal of her father having an affair, living in a small town where everyone knows everyone and their business. She was a teen and he was a big government official in town. It was devastating for her. Lots of times I believe it is because as a child she doesn't understand what really goes on between her parents. And, having to live through the gossip and rumors. Also, you NEVER know all the facts regarding your parents sex lives!!! That being said, the evetn stayed with her thru adulthood and caused her to mistrust the male/female relationship and to paint all men with the same brush as her father's.So, she is engaged to marry her perfect match. No passion or love, but like interests, etc. and the main thing...safe. Or so she thinks. Then the best man arrives in town. He is the older brother of the groom. Total opposites he oozes passion, sexuality, and charm. She is a goner. So does she stay safe or risk it all and go for the bad boy? They get their HEA after working through their issues and trusting their hearts.I really enjoyed this story. In fact, I stayed up until 2 a.m. because I could not put it down until I found out how it ended. It held my attention right up until the end. Good read, interesting and he was fun. I definitely recommend it.

Sometime's the Wrong Choice is actually the Right Choice!
I have read quite a few of Carly Phillips books, and this one is no exception, they are all very good books with a great story line. Some of the reviewers have called this a love triangle, it is really not in the truest sense of the word. She, Carly Wexler, is engaged to Pete Novak, a Lawyer who works in Carly's father's law firm. Pete is oblivious to the fact their lives are boring and hum drum. He is actually marrying Carly to make partner in her father's firm, and cheating on Carly at the same time. Neither one is really in love with the other one, but Carly doesn't know Pete is cheating on her.Enter Pete's journalist brother, Mike who came home from his assignment for the wedding. Carly and mike have a chemistry that is off the charts. Carly knows she isn't in love with Pete, but is unsure how to stop the wedding that is only a couple weeks away. When she finally decides to end it is after Pete has pushed Mike into spending time with Carly several times so he can spend time with his assistant. She finally breaks things off with Pete before the wedding, because of her feelings for Mike! Then she finds out Pete cheated on her.So she broke up with Pete before anything sexual happened with Mike, so that is why I say this is not a true triangle. Sex is almost just alluded to, and there is no hardcore sex in this book. I hope you want to find out the rest of the story and you will read this book.I have recommended this book to many of my friends, who have also enjoyed it. I found this book to be a sweet, but not too sweet, enjoyable read with just the right amount of angst and turmoil to make it believable. I didn't go into the rest of the characters backgrounds and feelings as I think it is best to form your own opinions when you read the book.Carly Phillips is one of my 1 click authors, that I buy as soon as a book usually comes out. I was fortunate enough this time to get an ARC from the her for this book.

“She wanted what she’d never realized she was capable of wanting. What she’d never allowed herself to desire. She wanted passion"
This was a sweetly sexy and slightly angsty romance.“She wanted what she’d never realized she was capable of wanting. What she’d never allowed herself to desire. She wanted passion.”Carly and Peter were good friends, who got engaged. Neither are in love with the other but Carly is committed to the safe, drama-free marriage that they’re going to have. She’s happy in their fairly unemotional, somewhat platonic relationship, until the arrival of Peter’s older brother, Mike.“He watched as myriad emotions shifted across her face. At that moment, he understood that he would never get enough of her, not ever.”Mike is a footloose and fancy-free photographer who travels to dangerous hot spots all over the world. He’s not keen on commitment or the prospect of being tied down.“This man reached inside her. He understood her without the need for words. He was her other half. And he would leave her soon.”Both Carly and Mike are running away from something, but when they meet, they find something in each other that is both alluring and scary. This was a really enjoyable romance, with some great chemistry between the characters. I loved Mike’s character – how he pushed Carly to look at herself properly. I enjoyed how genuine and honest Mike and Carly were – there was no messing around with each other’s feelings. Their fear held them back but they were true to themselves and each other.
