it is used to dry out between the toes so you don't get athletes feet

Does this bottle have a built in brush in the cap?

No - I don't think it does. I always pour a little into a small cup & use a Q-Tip. That way I won't contaminate the bottle contents.

yes there is an expiration date. The bottle I just received expires in November 2020

The original Castellani's paint has a red-purple dye in it. Is this the colorless version?

It looks like there is a faint red-purple color to it. However, I have not noticed any staining on my skin.
