Excellent read!
I rated this book a 5 star, because it's especially well written. It has statements that are so well said you'll remember them. I've had this book for years. While looking for something to read, I ran across this one and had to read it again.

Excellent story! Love this author!
I have looked at other reviews and to be honest there aren't any serious editing errors that I can point to or remember so they really must have been pretty minor. This is the first book I ever read by the author when I bought the book back in May and I didn't realize until now that I never wrote a review for it so I thought I would correct that issue. I first bought the paperback in April of 2017 and liked the book so well that I bought the ebook format in May. I tend to do that with books I like well enough to re-read again as after a few reads the physical book starts to wear out and that doesn't happen with ebooks.I guess it is very true that you can't please everyone as I found the level of detail included in the story helped to show or bolster certain things. There were several comments on how different the food was in comparison to what Cassandra and Victoria were used to, but I didn't find that it detracted from the story at all. Sometimes the best was to show you care for/love someone to make sure they eat enough, are getting enough sleep, that they are eating healthy, etc. So I took those details in the book in that vein. Don't tell me William cares about her, SHOW me, let me see it in how he gets upset if he can see she isn't eating because something is bothering her, etc. I didn't find a lot of conversation regarding their clothes other than when we hear her thinking about how as he puts on his uniform she can sense the transformation in him from the man to the admiral. As far as her clothes go that information doesn't really start until after they are back on Carina and we get descriptions of the different clothes she wears for different functions. I actually felt like that helped me picture things better, but I guess everyone is different on the level of detail that they like in a story.I truly found myself sucked into this story and had a hard time putting it down when I needed to get to bed so I could go to work the next day. There were actually a couple of scenes when she was dreaming that I caught details on the second read through that I missed on the first. For some reason the first time my brain missed when Sabah was telling her that she was the queen and didn't need to give up William that it was related the the birthmark. I will leave it at that so as not to spoil the story for others. I have read this book 4 times now and I have enjoyed it every time.I would have to agree that there are a lot of stories that the sex seems to be a filler that you want to put x # of scenes in per book or per chapter or whatever, but I didn't feel that this story did that. In comparison to a lot of other stories I have read by authors such as Maya Banks, Lauren Dane, Lora Leigh, Shelley Laurenston, and Kresley Cole this actually had relatively few sex scenes and I never felt that they were put in there just to be there, or that they detracted (or distracted) from the story line. I loved the final confrontation with the "bad guy" at the Challenge was very well written and portrayed. It's one of my favorite scenes in the book. This was an excellent read that I have read more than once and I'm sure I will read again. This is one author that will go on my auto buy/pre-order list!

Brace yourselves...
....This is one LONG LONG story. But i loved it. It held my attention for hours as i went on this weird strange terrestrial journey. I have to admit when i started the book, i wasn't too impressed. There were so many people and names and its like a serious blast to your system when you start. There are obvious (not TOO annoyingly obvious) signs of grammar mistakes, spelling here and there and some awkward conversations that seem a bit stilted at the start. But what makes this interesting is that instead of an author dragging this out for 2 or 3 books, M.K Eidem gives us this delightful package all in one bang. Maybe that's why it was a bit overwhelming at the start. There is an attack on earth. Some bad dudes are looking for something and some good alien guys are tracking them suspicious of their activity. Here i thought it was a bit weird that they civilizations happened to be similar - i mean earthlings vs. good guys. There is some kind of battle of the spaceships going on and one of the guys who happens to be the son of the boss in charge of the mother ship to the good guys, gets shot down and injured. He is saved by Cassandra's family who patches him up and he calls for pick up with Cassandra helping him towards the area where the ship will be. SO! I know what you guys are thinking .... This is obviously the hero of the story right?! ....WRONG. I thought this too but nope, Lucas (bosses injured son) is not the hero of this story. His FATHER is. So anyway ... they get attacked when he gets picked up and Cassandra and her 9 year old niece who had followed end up having to go with them. Earth is bombed, destroyed and Cassandra and her niece are the only humans left - Quite sad how her father and her brother and sister in law are killed. That was a shock to the system - didn't realize we would get to the sad so soon. From here - the journey gets interesting and you are pulled into an intriguing mystery. Someone or a few someones on the good guys team is batting for the ugly bad guys and putting them all in danger as they race home in a bid to get to safety. There were bumps (HUGE WAVES of bumps) along the way. Trial & Tribulations - a lot of things Cassie and her niece must learn to survive. People who were angry with their presence, loyalties tested, jealousy, misunderstandings, but overall LOVE. What we all come to expect and look for when reading this Romantic stories. I'm a sucker for a happy ending.700 pages - i thought it would take ages to be honest. At the start i wasn't too into it and thought it would drag on and on. But as you get deeper and deeper into the lives and world of Cassandra, William and their family, friends and enemies the time goes by so fast before you realize it, the book is done. I am VERY intrigued and excited to read Lucas's story. Would LOVE to read Lucas's story seeing as his "lifemate" seems to be very very independent and speaks her mind. You'll be surprised at who it is. I just cant wait. And yes there are mistakes in the book, i mentally corrected and moved on. I have said this before and i will say it again. I have read literally thousands of books - hundreds that were absolutely brilliant and some that infuriated me on how bad they sucked and few that stick out. I can't wrong a book on grammar - i've read some that are perfect - spelling, sentences, uses of words but the stories couldn't have BORED me more. It was dull. lifeless. This book has its mistakes but you wont regret reading this and M.K Eidem, i found them highly entertaining. It had what i always look for. A world to escape in.

Cassandra's Challenge
Oh my goodness, this is one heck of a story and a long story at that, worth every penny and boy it was such a fabulous read. This author gives so much to the reader, incredible insight into what we want to be 'inside' the world we are reading about. Cassandra and her niece last survivors of earth and such challenges ahead to be faced and have to succeed, survive or be killed. William is such a strong character in this book and I really like the way the author portrayed him and his goal for them all to survive. I hate spoilers so I won't say more except you just got to purchase this author's books because you will not be disappointed and you need them in your Kindle library for sure.

Long but worth reading
A very detailed book. Had it all for me. The fantasy/sci-fi element, adventure and, of course, romance. I liked that there was a strong female lead character, who retained her brain after meeting the romantic male 'hero'. Her character strengthened, she was intelligent and no pushover. Also worth saying I enjoyed reading the sexual/physical content here. All too often there seems to be a desire to be so graphic in some books that I've actually found my brain switching off, and skipping it. It's become almost boring, as if it's essential to include but doesn't actually add anything to the story. There are books where I know that is an element of the character/story and thoroughly enjoyable, but often it's not. I thought the balance here was spot on.I'm no literary critic. This isn't a masterpiece. All I want to do is share my enjoyment of this book with others. For me it was entertaining, worth the money and led me to reading her other books. As an average bod using Kindle, that's all I want.

Great story, absolutely loved it! Just needs proof reading and then it would be perfect!!
I adored this book and am so impressed that the author made such a long story flow so well! I was never bored at all, on the contrary, the story raced along and took me with it! Could not wait to get back to it whenever I had to put it down for pesky things like work or sleep (although I did not get much of the latter while reading this and the author's other books)!! The story draws you in and you really care for the characters, rooting for them to get their HEA and justice for earth! That said, I have to make the same comments as other readers and that I have made on other reviews of the author's books, which is that the editing is atrocious and the books need to be proof read! The bad editing took away some of my enjoyment of the book and it is a testament to how good the story really is that it is still getting 5 stars from me despite that. But please, please PLEASE get a proof reader for the next book, it's such a shame that bad grammar is detracting even slightly from this author's great stories!!! The writing style is amazing; it's the grammar that is the problem and that should be fixable with a thorough proof read.

A 5 star story but 0 star editing
This book was engrossing and I stayed up most of the night to read it. The characters were very good, the plot was good and it was just a very good story. The author should be proud of it - well proud of the story anyway. That said, the editing was horrific. It really detracted from my enjoyment of the story - although sometimes the mistakes made were so bad that you had to smile and re-read the sentences.I read something on a review for another book this author wrote saying (not quoting just summarizing) that the large publishing houses take advantage of authors and basically excusing the errors as it was self published. OK. Yes the publishers may take advantage - but that is NO excuse for this author to not do basic proofing and corrections before it is published. That is very shoddy practice and where this could have been a 5 star book, it becomes just average. If English is not the author's first language, they might want to hire a copy editor to proof the manuscript before releasing. As a reader, I feel very let down by the low standard shown in the editing - this story deserved better.
