will this suck water 50foot away?

“Away” yes - they can - as long as the total height from the pump inlet to the suction end of the pipe is less than 20 feet. I practice however; it is best to have the suction as short as is reasonably possible, and have the discharge be as long as it needs to be. I’ve pumped water 400’ over a low right with these pumps. But the suction was less than 20’
