No it doesn't contain valerian root. It does however work very well.

Have any of you had success using these?

It does help my terrier for a few hours. She runs under the bed and shakes,sometimes whines in storms. I give her this 30 min before a storm if I see it on news or see clouds rolling in and she will go take a rest in her dog bed peacefully, not upset. The key is to give it 30 mins to kick in. I've given it after a storm started and it was harder to see results and if it's a long stormy day she gets upset and hides after 4-5 hours so I buy nutrivet pet ease bones and treats to supplement with these. They have the chamomile, tryptophan, taurine,and ginger but no melatonin so you can give them 2-3 × day. Once I've used Chew and Heal, I found if it's still storming or were on the road to give the Petease the next 5 to 6 hours for a dose or two. Again it works for an hour or two, but anything calming her helps her BUT yeah I love these products cause I dont feel right putting my dogs on anxiety meds unless we just have to and she stopped tearing things up when I was gone too on these.

How many treats do you give at a time?

It is 1 treat per 25lbs. My dog weighs 90lbs, so I give her 4 at one time.

I see these and same brand but with Hemp. What is the difference of the two?

That I don’t know. I’ve heard good things about hemp but I love these. Good luck.
