I was disappointed that the plastic looked so cheap
I'm going to be honest; when I first opened these, I was disappointed that the plastic looked so cheap. BUT appearances aren't everything, because they are actually pretty durable and well-made. I got these for my kids for Christmas, since my son had asked for a toy trumpet and this was the only one I could find ideal for a 5 year old. My kids totally love them! I like that the keys are functional, the sound they make isn't irritating, and multiple keys can be pressed for a harmonized tone. Really glad I got these.

So much fun for the whole musical family
Having spent most of my childhood and adolescence as a band geek playing numerous instruments, I immediately had an appreciation for this saxophone and trumpet duo. My 3-year-old has a natural attraction to instruments too, and these quickly became the perfect protection for my expensive instruments collecting dust in a locked closet. My son loves these, and is frequently seen marching around the living room playing them.I love how they can be used by adults too (no shame), and only wish we had them back in my high school marching band days. Seeing my 3-year-old rock out a perfect "press box" to the TV was totally worth the cost and noise. I'm also thoroughly entertained that the notes able to be played on the trumpet are perfect for replicating military bugle calls (makes this Navy vet geek out even more), which saves my sanity a little when my son repeatedly insists I play music for him... I've almost perfected the Star Wars theme song using the saxophone too. Of course he is far less amused by my shenanigans than I am... often taking them away from me... but totally worth it. There isn't much for noise making toys that I've found to be entertaining for adults too, so I'm a little excited about these. For being cheaper plastic, these instruments hold up to 3 year old boy surprisingly well (just don't step on them or drop them off the stairs). I especially love how they have a harmonica style sound. My son absolutely loves them too, marching around the house playing with them every chance he gets. They've even become HUGELY popular when the cousins come to visit too.

Super cute, toddler's favorite, not incredibly durable.
This trumpet/ saxophone set is so cute. My almost 2 year old received it as a gift and was OBSESSED with them for nearly two months. He couldn't actually play them at first, but has slowly learned to blow in and push buttons down to make the sound. The keys on the saxophone didn't hold up well and all broke off in pretty short order, but we filled the holes with hot glue and it still makes a sound when you blow into it, so I don't really mind. Overall, great purchase and my toddler would give it a 10 star review!

We love them, but they don’t hold up well.
I bought them even after reading all the reviews, but my son is obsessed with trumpets and there just weren’t any other toy trumpets to be found. He LOVES it, and I would buy it again. However the silver paint started coming off within a week, and the sax “buttons” do pop off quite easily. And for anyone who isn’t aware, it is essentially a harmonica. So don’t expect any authentic sounds, or mechanics to it. But this toy has served its purpose well.

Box Came Very Damaged
Plastic is definitely very cheap and sounds nothing like the actual instrument. The box also came super busted right out the Amazon packing box. I didn’t open the Amazon box until right before my son’s party, so didn’t realize how damaged it was. Almost embarrassing to give it to my son for his birthday, but he was counting on it so I didn’t have time to send it back.

Great for kids
My daughter is almost 4 and she absolutely loves these instruments. She’s not quite ready to play a real instrument but was begging for a trumpet so this was the perfect solution. She’s able to play and try to learn with a durable instrument fit for a kid.

Cheaply made
I bought this for my 9 year old grandson that wanted to try. He is able to blow the trumpet but the saxophone won't make a noise. Save your money. These are cheaply made and not worth it.

Quality, lightweight instrument that kids and adults will love
I purchased these instruments after my daughter (3 years old) asked Santa for a “musical instrument horn”. I ordered them quickly without looking too much into them. I have to say, I have been so impressed with these. They are very lightweight so they’re easy for her to hold and they actually function like real instruments. Each key sounds different. I question their durability because they’re so lightweight, but we have been using them everyday for a few weeks and we haven’t had any issues yet. My daughter loves them and everyone who comes over (kids and adults) wants to try them out. I would for sure order these again. They were a hit!

Fantastic!
I have a 3 year old daughter and 18 month old son who love making music whether with proper or play instruments. We have a piano, guitars, bass guitar, bongos, recorder, harmonica etc and a play keyboard, dance mat and percussion instruments. My daughter asked for a saxophone and when I saw this set with the trumpet I was delighted. It's great value, looks good, they have figured out how to play them and they aren't too loud! They have survived two toddlers since Christmas so they are reasonably robust. They come with some colour-coded tunes on the back of the box which I think might be a little bit advanced for now but when she gets to 4, I'll try her on it because I will teach them to read music at about 6 and this will be a good introduction.
