EdenOrganic Garbanzo Beans, No Salt Added, 15 Ounce (Pack of 12)

These are the only canned garbanzo beans that I feel comfortable you doing without having to rinse off the fluid it is contained in. This company goes the extra mile by creating a very nutritious product. I like warming them up a bit before I eat them and these are the only canned garbanzo beans that I feel comfortable emptying the entire contents into a saucepan, warming up, and eating. The flavor is superior. The quality is superior. I eat a lot of garbanzo beans and this Eden brand is worth paying the extra money for. Of course when I have time to make them myself from dried organic garbanzo beans, that is always a treat.

No salt, therefore healthier. You can add your own salt or combine them with a salty food and not be overwhelmed. Makes nice hummus. Good over rice or oat groats (steel cut oats). Good in salads. The aquafaba is great as a whipped cream substitute, best kept separately and chilled before whipping.

If you make hummus and want to control the salt level in your foods this is a great choice. These beans have no added salt in them so that is great. They do have Kombu Seaweed in them. The salt content of a whole can is 175 mg. When I make hummus that is about four servings. With tahini, a little seasoning salt and a few spices these beans are easy to process in a food processor for about a minute! Since I started using these garbanzo beans, my husband asks for hummus a lot more often. So, I got this can of garbanzo beans. At least, that's what the label said, but who can trust anybody these days? I'm happy to report that when I opened the can, it contained... garbanzo beans! At first, I was concerned because it looked like I'd received a can of chickpeas instead. But, lo and behold, these were indeed beans of the garbanzo variety. Whew!! On a side note, can you think of any bean that has a name that's as fun to say as "garbanzo?" Go ahead. I'll wait. See? I'm thinking of having an entire festival for these wonderful beans and calling it GARBANZOPALOOZA. But, that'll have to be a long way off.

The first thing that I do when purchasing any food is read the ingredients and checking for sodium and sugar content is my first priority other than the date! I (of course) check for other things but those are always first on my list. These beans are great because I can make a great beans soup by added all of my own herbs and spices and have a wonderful meal without doing all of what is necessary to prepare dry beans. Very nice flavor.

I like Eden brand soya milk, and their beans are all in cans that don’t have toxic additives. To me it’s worth paying a little more, I appreciate that it’s out there.

Their products are barn on to anyone else and their taste is phenomenal so I go with it
