Hay's Blender 3D manual
The book is great, easy to follow, and makes much better sense that any of the other beginner Blender books I purchased.... however, after my delving into Blender, I have come to the realization that this software is simply too difficult to be used for what I wanted to do with it. The book is great but the software itself is EXTREMELY complicated (I apologize here because the software itself is not being rated, the book is). Great illustrations that can be followed - this was missing in the other manuals that I purchased/examined.

3D MODELING - BLENDER BASIC BY EXAMPLE
I am very glad I purchased this book. It is a must-have and "you cannot do without" before you start with any YouTube tutorial. A small price to pay.

Two Stars
Bit of a boring book, very little pictures and plain modelling tasks like making a memory stick. Sigh.

A good starting point
A very straightforward and practical introduction for the total beginner. It is a bit dry, but it's written with a friendly voice, and I enjoy that. This book doesn't go into any complex or sophisticated features, but instead takes you from total beginner to un-ashamed novice ASAP. And that's exactly what I was looking for. Having worked through this book, you will be ready to take on more advanced tutorials, or even do some simple projects of your own. For me, this book was effective, a good learning tool, and for that, I give it 5 stars.P.S. I particularly like that it's written for intelligent-but-ignorant folks, people who want to learn Blender but don't yet know anything about it, rather than being written 'for dummies.'
