I’ve been following The Sartorialist since either 2008 or 2009 and was very excited when I heard he was doing a book specifically on men’s fashion. I’m giving the book 4 and not 5 stars because while the pictures are beautiful, I thought the text was somewhat skimpy especially for a book that costs close to $50. The author says in the introduction that we should look at the pictures for inspiration but I was hoping for some more explanatory text as well...

I start with what this book isn’t - a bible or a profound source of information about Men’s fashion.Instead, this book IS a beautifully produced addition to anyone’s library that engages with Men’s fashion. It is a host of tailoring and styling tips; a source of inspiration from the novice to those in the industry. Scotts’ eye is impeccable; as someone in fashion, I appreciate and respect his approach and lens.The rich gems about vintage hunting, traveling, and garment care are spot on.Overall a wonderful present to yourself or your friends invested in fashion.

If a man asked me to recommend a book to help them dress better, this is the book I would recommend. As good as it is, 'Dressing the Man' is less relevant in an age when most men don't wear suits—or even sport coats—to work, not that 'The Sartorialist Man' doesn't offer sound advice about wearing tailored clothing. 'The Sartorialist Man' offers advice tailored to the man trying to dress well in 2020, not 1930.

I love Scott Schuman and think he is a men's wear genius, takes the best photos in the business. I have all of his previous books, which were beautifully produced by Penguin. When I read that Rizzoli was publishing this one I feared it would a disappointment in terms of quality and substance. The format is too large, the photos in the previous books were spot on and these do not gin anything being so large. The instructional text is scant and Alan Flusser did it much better in his two books.I enjoyed looking the photos. I tend to use Scott's previous, handbook-size tomes for inspiration. This book is too large and badly produced to fall into that category. And the author's name is not on the front of the book!

It was a gift I got for someone else so I never actually opened the plastic but it came very well protected plus looked like a very beautiful and substantial/quality made book. The friend who I got it for said he is "obsessed" with it. Hope that helps :)

The tips were a little basic for me and I wished it had a better paper quality but overall good photos and interesting read!

This was an easy purchase as I have a couple of other books by Scott Schuman. I think the subtitle fo the book says it all. “Inspiration every guy wants. Education every guy needs.” Incredible photography along with easy to understand sartorial advice that’s practical and not the least bit condescending. Great book!

The photos in the book are phenomenal, but the true gem is the discussion of what style means for Everyman, not just one kind of man, but truly all. Highly recommended.

Libro imprescindibile per chi appassionato o studia moda maschile .In questo libro sono raccolte le illustrazioni di Scott Schuman nella sua ultima fatica in giro per il mondo .Shuman tramite il suo stile raccoglie le immagini più identificative e univoche dello stile maschile in giro per le strade , senza soffermarsi su una sola idea legata magari al lusso o al brand ma anzi ,sull'identità .Recentissimo ,uscito a settembre 2020 è davvero da avere se si amano la fotografia, l'identità nel suo significato più vero e la moda

E' un remake di Dressing the Man: Mastering the Art of Permanent Fashion di Alan Flusser, il libro supera le aspettative, i font e la carta sono superbi, le illustrazioni estremamente gradevoli e le foto di Scott Schuman sono impareggiabili. La copertina è molto materica, il libro è proprio bello da tenere in mano, e sfogliarlo. Potrei passare ore a guardarlo.

Perfekter Outfit Ratgeber mit sehr vielen Anregungen, ein absolutes Musst Have für jeden Mann.Vielen Bilder, oftmals kleine Accessoires, die den Unterschied machen. Sehr cool, viel Spaß beim Probieren!

Adoro Shuman, e seguo "The Sartorialist" dal primo post. Una guida indispensabile per il dandy che non deve chiedere mai. Ottima rilegatura e qualità di stampa.

...interesante, con muy buenas fotos y muy bien escrito. Merece la pena, sobretodo para los hombres a quien les gusta vestir bien y con estilo.
