After a year, I'm very happy with this!
Compared with similar products, which can cost $1000 to over $2500, I believe this powered fin has the best value. I shopped around for ages, looking at videos and reading reviews, and I originally expected to buy a more expensive system, but I decided to give this powered fin a try and I'm definitely happy with it. There are some areas for improvement, but it does what I need it to do and is a ton of fun to use. In the picture I've attached, I have it installed in an "air 7" fin box glued to the bottom of my iSUP (I only use this when sitting on my board and paddling kayak-style). I put the fin box in front of the center box that is already on the board, and I use the HiSun with the 2 smaller side fins. I was very careful about installing it straight, and it tracks very well. There are technically 4 "speeds." The first two have no effect, but the 3rd gets me moving about as quickly as if I were paddling really hard, and the 4th is slightly faster, about 4.5 mph. If you have ever handled car batteries or marine batteries for trolling motors, you will be amazed at how lightweight this battery is. I've run it using speeds 3 and 4 for over 75 minutes at least 10 times with no problems, and I've used it for shorter periods about another 10 times. I've used it on an inflatable kayak containing a total weight of over 350 pounds, and it worked just fine. I nearly always paddle alone, and I frequently paddle out as far as I want to go, and then use the HiSun to get back quickly. It's fun to use but I also consider it an excellent safety device, because if were to sprain a wrist or have any other serious physical problems, I would rely on this to get me back (as long as I can at least dip my paddle in the water to steer). I wish the cable did not come out of the front of the unit, because the constant force of the water on it is starting to make the cable covering split; I've wrapped it with several layers of waterproof tape and hope that will prevent further problems. The amount of noise and vibration seems comparable to a trolling motor of similar power. I wish the speeds were graded more evenly, and the covers for the power cable and charging cable ports are kind of flimsy, but I'm quite happy with the product overall. ETA: I've now run it more than two hours on a few occasions and I'm still happy with it.

Best SUP motor for the price
This is a great product for the price. I have this mounted on a 12 foot fishing SUP and it has really exceeded my expectations, but it has room for a few improvements.According to my GPS, the top speed with no current/wind is about 4.5 mph. With a 2-3knot current and/or wind at your back, and paddling steadily you can achieve over 7mph.I didn't realize how much I would want reverse until using it for a lot of dock, bridge and pier fishing. It is not effective as a trolling motor to keep you in position, it's main use is to help cover distance and give you a boost when the wind isn't going your way.I have taken this setup over 2 miles into the gulf of Mexico (on very calm days) with a total weight of about 180lbs of gear and rider on a 50 lb board and usually I do not run out of battery life! But when you do, the motor now creates a good bit of drag, slowing you down paddling. I wish I could buy an extra battery for this motor, I would immediately. Also the battery box is sealed, so you can't upgrade or repair without breaking it open. This I really don't like. The rote is also temperamental and not waterproof. It always works eventually, just have to bang it on my cooler while I mash the buttons as hard as I can, very annoying. Because the remote is so bad, when I need to stop quickly I'll just reach back and pull the Killswitch instead of the stop button. There are better options out there for a SUP specific motor, but only a couple and they're much more expensive. All in all, I don't regret this purchase, it has been a game changer for fishing and exploring. Be warned! Everyone that sees it at the beach or boat launch is going to ask you all about it.

customer service keeps asking me to wait and never gets back to me
I have now owned 2 of these units. The first was great but i broke the fin on a submerged rock. I then ordered another as the expeience with the first was great. When the new unit arrived it was not new. The fin showed signs of wear and the remote did not work. I opened the remote to find it was water damaged. I contacted the company and they keep asking me to wait while they check this has been since November 2021. i still do not have a fin i can use.

I FEEL THE NEED FOR SPEED!
I was a little worried when I first ordered my "Jet Fin" (as we now call it) because I thought it might be some cheap plastic toy made in China that would soon break. This is no Toy! I was very impressed with its design and engineering and its tough metal housing. It fit snugly and securely into my standard size paddle board fin slot. It has 4 speeds and I'm guessing the top speed is around 10 mph? It steps up one speed at a time so you aren't jerked off the board going from the slowest to the fastest speed. The battery comes in a waterproof case with an ankle line quick disconnect incase I fall off the board while it is under power, the motor shuts off. I've used it now on 5 trips for a total of about 15 miles. It's a tad louder at full throttle than I expected but I think a lot of the sound is caused by the sound reverberating through some hollow spaces in my board. Where I paddle starts off rough and I struggle through the rough part to get to the calm water. Now I just turn on my "Jet Fin" with its remote I keep hanging around my neck, and zoom through the initial rough part, turn the jet fin off, and enjoy paddling in the calm back waters. I'm really impressed.

Solidly constructed and works well
This little motorized fin is solidly constructed and works well. It's been a great addition to my paddleboard outings. It lets you go further than you would otherwise, and not have to worry so much about wind, or being tired on the way back. Recommended.
