Carex Canvas Walker Basket

Works good. Fits pretty good, although i do have to bend the "U" hooks every so often to keep them tight on the walker legs. I does not stay open completely, however, that does not impede usage. I would buy again.

Light weight so doesn't cause walker to tilt forward too much, depending on what is put in it. Good space for carrying, especially the elastic bands on one side to keep things in their place. Wish it were done in a lighter color so one could actually see what is in it - especially remotes, which tend to be black as well.This is the second of this variety I have had as the first one broke (oddly the metal rim separated at the joint a month or two after one of the braces came out of its grommet. Needless to say, it is not the strongest of carriers, but I greatly prefer it over the wire basket.

Liked the product. Bought for a friend who needed a walker for everyday use. Helped this friend transport their things more easily.

The privacy cover is a nice addition and not pictured but will not hold smaller items in if you drop the basket/have it in your trunk. It installs easily enough and is built well but not designed for heavier items like school books or drink bottles...even though I use it for this purpose. I am on a walker after surgery and bought this to carry papers, pens, water bottles, and misc items when I am on the move. It serves the purpose and is spacious. I keep smaller items in a ziploc baggy to reduce the chances of things falling out while the walker is in the trunk or being taken out for use. The privacy cover I mention is a simple velcro flap that comes in the box.UPDATE: I lowered my star rating after lightly using the bag more than around the house. So on trip three into public the support arm broke off. These are not well made brackets. They fold in and out; apparently if you fold them too many times they will break. The primary design flaw is the metal is thinned out at the bracket connecting point/swivel point. This reduces the strength of this already thin and weak wire.The center bracket still holds the bag and my contents; however, now the bag slides around. The brackets appear to be designed for a simple stability feature; however, I expected more. I have not contacted the company, so I cannot speak to their customer service quality but their structural quality is low.

Ok, Here's why I rated this a one. The canvas basket is well made and I really like it, However the side wire attachments are extremely flimsy. One broke last week and I'm in the process of contacting the company to return it. I wish they would have considered using a heavy gauge wire instead of the thin one.Michelle

So sad this product did not hold up well. Within a week the wires that connect to the leg broke but the basket was still usable. The plastic that helps the basket expand has broken so the basket doesn't stay open anymore. Love the idea of this product but hate that it didn't last long.

This canvas basket is an excellent product, that is much better than a wire basket. It has an internal frame that allows it to expand or contract, as needed, so it doesn't take up any more space than needed at any given time. It is very well made and durable. I added a couple of plastic tie-wraps to make the attachment to the legs more secure, which helped a lot, as it tended to come loose too easily without them.

The only reason I did not give this product 5 stars is because we had to apply a lot of pressure to get the middle bracket to stay hooked on the walker. But now that it is on, it has stayed on. You can see the two metal hooks sticking up in the photo. Maybe they fit better on a different model walker. But this is very minor and would never stop me from buying another basket if ever needed. There are also two more hooks, one on each side of the basket that fits the basket to the two front walker legs to provide stability. These snapped on very easily.The description says: "Privacy cover to keep personal items protected and concealed". This cover is attached with Velcro strips and it is your choice to use or not to use. Here in the house, the cover is not in use, this way it is faster and less cumbersome to get to items. But I can see using the cover if you or your loved one lives in a nursing home so that the personal items are kept from others view. Or if your walker tips over, the cover will help keep items contained.Inside the basket is an elastic strap on the side closest to walker that is sewn in many places so you can securely hold items of different sizes in place.The basket is a perfect size, not too large to get in the way but plenty large to hold what is needed.We are very glad to have bought this canvas basket over a metal basket because small items won't be going anywhere but staying in the basket where they belong.This is one of those items we can't help but think when using it, "I'm so glad I have this!"
