Rubies Star Wars Mace Windu Lightsaber

My 9yo was so excited to get the Mace Windu light saber, and then supremely disappointed and let down within 2 hours of receiving it. The light-up feature didn't work properly - wouldn't turn off. The bottom of the handle came off repeatedly during normal use, exposing the light bulb used to light up the saber. The saber itself cracked and broke after a light tap against a tree. It's a kids plastic light saber - it should be able to withstand some common little-boy battling, but he never got the chance because the product didn't work as it should've. Looked nice, but not functional as a toy - not durable, and never worked properly. What's worse is my son was willing to spend his own $15 for this, only to see his money evaporate...

I bought this for my nephew and he loves it. The lights work really well. Im not sure about the sound effects. The only con is that when you "activate" the lightsaber aka make the purple blade go out, when u try to bring it back in it usually gets stuck on the last telescoping part. That may just be the one I got, but for the price, I'm nitpicking. Great saber. Good for any kid who's into star wars.

I bought this lightsaber because my 4 year old daughter wanted the purple blade. I looked everywhere for it and couldn't find one that could be used as a toy. For some reason there is only collectible editions, I am baffled that bigger toy companies don't sell this color, for girls is the perfect choice, especially since there is no pink in Star Wars (not yet anyway). The quality is good and since my daughter is still little I think the price and quality are perfect, however, for an older kid I wouldn't be so sure, I think that with a little bit of rougher play this lightsaber wouldn't last a day. It is clearly intended for cosplay or Halloween and not regular play. The light is an absolute joke and not even in a pitch black room could you see it. Oh well, at least it is purple...

As soon as I opened this item I could tell it was a piece of crap! I was hoping it was similar to a mace windu light saber I had already purchased for $14 at walmart for my older daughter which has sound effects and lights up. Unfortunately, when my younger daughter also wanted a "purple" light saber, the only other comparable one I could find was this one online. i wish i had read the reviews first because not only does this one look super cheap, but it doesn't do sound effects and the lights never worked with brand new batteries. It's not worth the time an effort to send back. Lesson learned I guess, but I wouldn't recommend purchasing!

As soon as got the item, along with my other new Star Wars items, of course I was eager to open them up and play with it right away. The first thing I noticed about it was that the box the lightsaber itself was in had already been ripped open! There was a little bit of tape all the way around it to hold it all together.I suppose that's not all that bad, right? It's cheap, so whatever.There's only a couple more things about this item. The lightsaber blade itself doesn't stay in the "down, locked" position. By that, I mean that you can't have it pointing down on your belt (which there is no belt hook for).And finally, the light. I didn't know it had a light in it. No batteries included, but that wasn't a problem. I threw some in, tried turning it on, and couldn't see it. The light on there is such a joke, you can only see it when the lights are off and it's totally dark. Once again, it's not all that bad, especially since I didn't buy it for the light-up feature.In general, it's a cheap toy that most likely won't stand up to much abuse, and I suggest it only be for costumes/decoration.I hope you found this review to be helpful. :)

This light saber can be either a disaster or a huge winner depending on the purpose you use it for. I found this toy to be wonderful because I mostly just swing it around in the air rather than do battles. Because the saber is very weak and the blade flimsy, I would not recommend this to anyone who likes to clunk them around and do fights. However, the toy is very easy to handle and has a nice handle that seems durable enough to swing around. Overall this product is very practical for play and is loads of fun. But if I were you, for a more strong saber, I'd go with the Obi Wan Kenobi episode 1 toy.

My grandson is fascinated by the new series "Star Wars, the Clone Wars". Since this series has started, a new line of toy products have been introduced and, like all children, my grandson wants them all. His birthday was recent and we purchased a few of the toys from the series for him. The "Mace Windu Lightsaber" was one of them. He was so happy to receive this. He plays with all of his Star War toys all the time and loves the idea that his father and uncle used to play with Star Wars toys when they were children. He even has a few of their toys we were able to save. He already started his Christmas list and has mostly Star Wars, the Clone Wars action figures and vehicles on it. I'm sure "Santa" will be placing quite a few of the items he is requesting under our Christmas tree this year!

I am writing my first review to help people not make the same mistake I did. I read the reviews and should've stayed away. But, unfortunately, I needed a lightsaber for Halloween so I was pressed for time so I went with it because it was the only thing that would arrive in time. This thing broke within seconds and even worse, the bulb didn't even work. So it's safe to say this product was a waste of money.

This isn't even worth a one star rating, but it wouldn't let me post it without a star rating. :( I just received this today and it was meant for my Halloween costume. Well, now I don't have it because it broke apart. The last two parts of the extendable 'blade' kept sticking out when I tried to collapse them and when I tried to fix it, the whole hilt and handle broke apart! Complete garbage! The company should be ashamed of selling something as low quality as this for the price I paid for it! So disappointed!

La Espada fue para mi hijo de 6 años , es muy conveniente porque no daña a nadie , ni nada, ya que se repliega , tiene luzy esta muy padre , su aspecto es sofistiado, un producto de buena calidad que podria ser hasta de colección , además , viene en un empaque original de Star Wars y prendida se ve muy padre , a todos los mayores fans les gusto .Muy feliz con la compra .

Arrived in good condition but none of the two unit worked. One broke apart instantly and the second within an hour. The lights never worked.I had to dismantle the whole thing and solder the LED back and glue together back. Poor job inside. Not worth 3$.

es un producto bueno ,el problema es que pedí el de mace windu 'y me mandan este ,aparte le ponen este que en nada se parece a la publicación lo cual es publicidad engañosa .

Extends and collapses pretty smoothly, good colors, decent quality plastic. Doesn't mock my "shoooooom" sound effects while having epic battles with my kids. Little disappointed it didn't come with the rumored SLJ custom phrase, but a sharpie took care of that 😁
