Good for older kids?(I have 2 rambunctious boys:5 & 7 who like to play hard & swing high), is this sturdy enough to last them several years?

I have four children. I bought this when my oldest was 2. It was great for our family for about 10 years. By the time each child was 9 they really had outgrown the clubhouse and slide though. I always wished there was more space between the swings. Our monkeybars started chipping paint at 9 years of use. Its too small now for my teen and tweens. The only thing they use are the swings but can't at the same time because they are so close to eachother. So if you don't mind paying this much for about 5-7 years worth of play its great. It was a bear for my husband to assemble.

How well is the set holding up. Anyones falling apart on them?

We are on our fifth year. We do proper maintenance (stain/seal every year, check/tighten ALL hardware). It has shifted/sunk into the ground quite a bit. My daughter is now 11 and keeping the swing part anchored is a BEAST. Next year I will take the swing portion off and rebuild it so it is a freestanding unit to avoid stressing the fort itself. I've had to replace a few cracked boards. Not unsurprising. Crows nest is fun but always feels a bit unstable for anyone older than 8. All in all it's holding up well. I put it up alone over a long weekend. If I had an adult helper (or fewer child helpers) it could have been faster. It is cheaper and more convenient to purchase a kit vs buying your own lumber but you will have thinner boards more prone to breaking with this type of playset.
