Works and was able to get the job done
This worked very well and I was able to complete the job. The rebar spike was not always perpendicular to the U strap which was an irritation but the plating was good. Not so sure about how secure it will be. Even when fully embeded the resulting post 1.2 metres high seems to have moremovement than I would like.

Expensive but worth it
The support is very flexible revolving through 360 degrees once a hole for it is drilled in (in my case) a granite rock. It was then cemented in place.
