The Craft of Coloring: 30 Paisley and Henna Designs: An Adult Coloring Book (Relaxing And Stress Relieving Adult Coloring Books)

This book has charming hand-drawn designs that are pleasant to look at and even more relaxing to color. I can let my mind drift as I select my favorite shades and apply gentle pencil strokes. I also like that most of the coloring spaces are a bit larger so I spend less time shuffling pencils and more time pondering whatever is rolling around in the back of my mind as I work. (I recently read that when you color, your body and brain relax, putting you in a similar state of mind as meditation.) What a healthy, beautiful way to unwind!I like the use of white space in this book and the large paisley designs that don't overwhelm the eye. Whether you want something simpler to color or are seeking a young-adult coloring book, this one is sure to please!If you're looking for nice, silky colored pencils that won't break the bank, I recently purchased the Siensync brand 48 color set (to replace my lost Prismacolor set) and found them to be incredibly rich and creamy - perfect for blending and shading the designs in this book! I bought this coloring book specifically to go on vacation (took a break from all forms of electronic media). I love paisley & this book gave me great designs to color.Occasionally I have muscle spasms in my neck, down my shoulder & into my arms...making small, intricate work difficult to do. This book has nice big spaces to color & the patterns are not dazzling to my eyes. There are some intricate pieces that I will tackle eventually.Each pattern is done on a separate sheet. If you're using markers, expect some bleed through to the other side. I used 2 sheets of paper to pad the underside, so it wouldn't print out onto the pattern below.The Crayola markers have nice bright colors - however, some of the actual colors do not match the covers (the light blue cover was actually a lot darker than I expected).The Staedtler colored pencils were light....I had to press hard on them to make a big impact, and even so, it wasn't very much. But they are good for shading & they're a decent option for this book.The Maped Duo Color pens are lovely. Fun markers to work with. They seem to give a "wash" of color as you move along the page.All in all, an excellent book to use if you're new to adult coloring books.

This is a great coloring book. I like that the details are large so you don't have to squint to see between the lines to color in. I've recently been doing a great deal of coloring to help with my anxiety and stress and it has been a tremendous tool in helping me manage that. This coloring book is especially great because it is good for kids and adults alike. Some coloring books are better for adults with really fine details where as this book lines are a little larger and more spread out so you dont have to be a perfectionist to still get in between the lines. I really love this book. High quality pages with one image to a page and blank back side so if the coloring bleeds thru it doesn't ruin another design. Overall, great coloring book at more than a fair price! I learned of this product thru a discount promotion site for reviewing products; however, I paid full price for this book.

This was my first time buying a coloring book for adults. One of my friends had told me about how they helped you to relax and unwind so I decided to buy one and try it out. This is bound similar to a book not spiral bound. The paper that the "coloring pages" is on is high quality notcheap like coloring books you would purchase for a child. The artwork you color appears to be hand drawn and well. I was impressed with the overall quality of the book but was unable to do more than one of the pages since my eldest daughter took it from me and was REALLY excited to have a adult coloring book. So I guess it transcends the ages. ;) I bought this when it was on a promotional pricing to use and review.

This product is exactly as described. The book and its pages are large. The binding of the book would make for very easy copying on a home/office printer/copier. I was excited to find out the book was made/printed in Lexington, KY. Go "Made in the USA"!! :) I bought the book for my mother-in-law who has been confined to her home (sick with pneumonia), but I think I will order another one for myself. This book would be good to include in get-well packages or as a gift for teenage girls, as there is nothing "adult" about the coloring book other than the images are not Disney characters and may not be exciting to young children who like to color "pictures" of things/animals.

I am so happy I discovered The Craft of Coloring adult coloring books. I had been wanting to try this, hearing that it's relaxing and therapeutic, and I really think it is. This particular book's designs remind me primarily of flowers and leaves. They are larger pictures with less detail and so are good for beginning users. Very pretty designs take up as much of the page as the design you see on the cover. The paper is medium weight and it's possible some mediums might bleed through. However, the authors of this book encourage reproduction of the designs so the book has continued worth. It's a wonderful project for adults, but even my seven year old granddaughter loves coloring these beautiful designs. Highly recommended!

The Craft of Coloring: 30 Paisley & Henna Designs is wonderful. I love to color all the time. I find it very relaxing and soothing. I am pleased with the fact that the book itself has a page that recommends photo copying pages for more than one use with different mediums. I wish that the pages were perforated so they were easier to remove for gifting, hanging and photo copying. I think that gel pens and colored pencils work best with these designs. I only have a few gel pens so I am going to be ordering more so I can keep working in my book.Disclaimer I got the coloring book as a result of being in a review group.
