Misinformation presented by Amazon
The caption for this book stated publication was December 2018. I bought the book thinking the information was about as current as I could find. Turns out the copyright date for the book is 2007 making the information dated at best. The information is good, nonetheless, but I am left to do more research on more current information on some of the suggested products. I am somewhat disappointed. Let me state without confusion, this is not a review on the book, but rather a review on Amazon’s misinformation on the book’s presentation. As the book goes, for what it is, it is a five star book. Great information and well presented.

Excellent Book About Trapping
Everything one wants to learn about trapping fur bearing animals can be found in this book. This excellent item tells a novice how to care for the traps, it tells how to coordinate with land owners, and tells the best places to find the animals. Anyone into trapping and harvesting the bounty of the Earth should read this book.

Well worth the hide I sold to buy it.
Very informative book. Has a more modern approach to trapping and explains things in a way someone who didnt grow up in the 18th or 19th century can understand. Dont expect to find 30 pages of setting up old box traps and deadfalls. The author did a good job of sticking to one of his opening methods "KISS". Keep It Simple, Stupid. Especially enjoyed the order in which the book was put together. Each chapter gets you towards the ultimate goal of actually walking away with some retained knowledge after a good read. I'd say this book is a 9 out of 10 and any novice or veteran trapper/outdoorsman would enjoy here in the 21st century. This review is written by The Goat Farmer, not Little Miss his wife.

Must read for new trappers
This book really laid out the basics that a new trapper would need to get started. The author is clear and very specific when detailing set locations, equipment and techniques. His writing style keeps the reader interested and entertained. I would recommend this book to any new trapper. Even an experienced trapper could learn a bit or at least be entertained.

Good basic book on trapping.
The author is the editor now of a magazine and is also on an international trapping forum. Seems like a good guy eager to teach the methods that he developed over years as a professional trapper. It is good basic information that covers a lot of subject matter related to trapping fur bearing animals in North America.

Excellent Trapper Resource
I have read many trapping books and publications on trapping. Mr. Spencer does a great job in giving practical advice in all aspects of preparing for and running a trapline. It is one of the better publications that I have read for modern day trappers. The book is also written in a manner so that you can easily understand the information by his explanation and illustrations. I have used some of his suggestions in trap modification. A great book on kindle because I can refer to it out in the field as well.

2 mink , 1 opossum, 3 fox
Ok so for my first year trapping with nothing but this book, which consisted of 1 dozen traps and 1 dozen cable restraints for about 1 month, I think I did ok. And trust me, if there is any reason why I didnt catch more it has nothing to do with the book. Trapping is a lot more work than I imagined, but I freaking love it baby! Bring on the hard work, Im all about chasing critters. Ive even ventured into tanning the hides on my own....all the while driving all the people around me absolutely nuts haha! Someones got to..... But yeah buy this book, its excellent!

Guide to trapping
This book fills in some of the blanks that other "Trapping" books left out. If I was a writer, I'd combine the other books with this one and have a "Complete Guide to Trapping" source.
