Lancia Stratos (Rally Giants)

I am very pleased with this book and this format of books. Robson has written others, including one on the Peugeot 205 T16, which I also have. This isn't for the casual reader but the person who really enjoys rallying and reading about the great cars in this motor sport. This has just the right amount of text, ample photos that complement the text and is not so voluminous as to be a drag to read. Incidentally, I also use these books as reference books to build models of these same cars.

I recommend this book to anyone obsessed/fascinated with rallying who wants to absorb as much information as possible about one the sport's greatest cars. The Lancia Stratos was the first purpose-built rally car, a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive, fiberglass-bodied, Ferrari V6-powered monster that drew huge crowds wherever it raced.The author of this book, Graham Robson, is one of the foremost authorities on the World Rally Championship, and he provides plenty of information about the Stratos' genesis, development, specifications, and competition history. Loaded with photos and statistics, this book is a must for all Stratos fans.I also highly recommend the other books in Veloce's Rally Giants series, including Austin-Healey 100-6 and 3000; Ford Escort Mk I, and Subaru Impreza, all written by Robson, all of the same quality and format.

This is one of a series by the same author. Tells you all you need to know about a great rally car, the book is well written and is illustrated with superb photos and diagrams. Would highly recommend this book.

These are like cheap photo copies compared to original run.

Das Buch über den Lancia Stratos ist mit sichtlicher Begeisterung für das Thema geschrieben.Damit entstand ein absolut lesenswertes Buch über ein immer noch faszinierendes Auto.Von der detaillierten Darstellung der Entwicklungsgeschichte des Autos, die an italienischem Drama nichts zu wünschen übrig läßt, bis zu den technischen Entwicklungen und der Politik im Hintergrund - alles ist mit viel Hintergrundinfo belegt, wirkt glaubhaft und ist streckenweise spannend wie ein Krimi.Damit entstand ein absolut lesenswertes Buch über ein immer noch faszinierendes Auto.

Libro molto interessante nei contenuti, peccato che il volume ricevuto mostri una qualità di stampa inaccettabile per un libro stampato (simile alla stampa a getto d'inchiostro...) soprattutto nella definizione delle fotografie. Possiedo un altro libro della stessa collana ed è migliore, come dovrebbe essere qualunque libro stampato. Per di più, è arrivato rovinato dalla colla dell'imballaggio chiuso grossolanamente.
