Does it read "Home Again" chips?

Yes, the Halo does read HomeAgain microchips.

Our new scanner says no tag found on our 7 year old lab with a 1o digit homeagain chip. 4a7c25xxxx. should it read this chip. all 15 digit chips read

It reads our Homeagain. But please check to see if the chip may have moved on ur pet. Our 1 boxer girls chip moved all the way down to her leg-in the front of her leg. It took us a while to find it. Which is scary because a lot of the time the humane offices don't take the time to look for it, so I'll be rechipping my girl.

Does this work for Found Animals chips? Thank you.

Yes, Reads all chips except the 10 digit AKC chip and the 9 digit Avid chip.

If it comes across an Avid chip that won't read, does it tell you that or just act like no chip was found?

If it can’t read a chip, you will not receive a message saying so. It will just say chip not found. I have this same scanner and have no problems reading AVID chips.
