The Groz outside calipers feel very solid and works easily. First of all, the edges are all rounded -- it feels great in the hand, and no sharp edges. Metal is polished to a medium satin and the tool came covered in a nice coat of oil, so no rust. The adjustment nut knurling is sufficient for grip and not sharp - the screw itself is fine enough to get a snug slip-fit on parts (accuracy), the tension on the spring is firm but not overly tight. And the size is perfect for a shop apron pocket or just to live on the pegboard beside the lathe. Speaking of which, I might get another - one for the wood lathe, one for the metal lathe. very nice tool that should perform well and last. They are well made and the tips that are key to accurate dimensioning come together precisely and are repeatable. Not for ultra precision work but great for the woodshop. Point alignment is a hair off and I don't know how that affects exact accuracy but it won't cause issues for my needs. Calipers were covered in grease out of the package! It seems to have been a machine-type grease for the threads on the adjustment arm. Way too much was applied.
