Pro's and Con's:Con's:1. They are slippery on rocks, even dry rocks ( if rhe soles are wet). Even in rocks that aren't steep, they are still slippery. I'm not a beginner in canyoneeeing so even with good technique balance they performed maybe 6 on a scale of 10. ( for me). ( compeared to other shoes).2. Hey provide ZERO ankle support. I'm not heavy nor was I carrying a heavy backpack when I twisted my ankle, going down a steep hill. ( ok, maybe a mountain, and very steep).The point is , after 4-5 hour hike, and the more tired you are, that's when yiu want ankle high shooes. And these aren't it.3. They take time to dry. Better to live them in the sun for a few hours if you want them to dry well.Pro's:1. Very comfortable, good arch supoort, you can walk for hours in the city or on terrain with them.2. Sand does get in ( we hicked a sandy bottom river) but its super easy to shake out / rinse out WITHOUT the need to stop every 5 min to take them off.3. They never gave me blisters. And I waked with them for 6+ hours in a row.Not even when they were wet.That's a huge plus and I'm very finicky about my shoes.4. They are very sturdy. Not likely to rip and if they do, it will probably won't kill your shoe.Good luck!

My wife has used keen whisper sandals for years. Normally they would last about a year. We purchased a pair recently that had the strap separate from the sole within 3 weeks and returned them to amazon to replace with the same sandals The replacement sandals arrived promptly. The replacement sandals did exactly the same thing. The straps separated from the soles on BOTH sandals on the same walk, however this time it was 31 days after purchase so I cannot return them to Amazon. I am going to follow up directly with Keen and see if they will do anything, but I am not sure my wife really wants them anymore if their quality has degraded so far.I will update this review after contacting Keen to let you know if they will stand by their product.

The sole is a bit squeaky against my feet when wet and I hate that sound (like nails on chalkboard) but other than that VERY comfortable. Nothing rubs, not in the heel or toes, toes don’t poke out, and pebbles and sand don’t get stuck inside. I didn’t even have to break these in, they fit like a glove. Got them for hiking and crossing trails. The sole is thick enough so I don’t get poked by rocks even with a heavy pack on; and there is plenty of good grip on the soles so that slippery rocks aren’t a problem either.

I have numerous pairs of Keen Whisper sandals, in different colors. I love this blue color! I ordered a half size bigger just for a smidge more length and it is perfect! They are hardy sandals, waterproof ( in case I get caught in the rain ) and my feet are comfortable in them all day! I wear them Spring through Fall at my retail job, 8 hours a day, have worn them for travel, site seeing, and general around home and running errands purposes. I love them!

When I order these sandals, I was dealing with a flare up for plantar fasciitis and also preparing for a 5 day trip to Disneyworld. I purchased these sandals hoping I'd be able to walk around the parks without experiencing pain and these Keen sandals delivered! I walked 45 miles in these sandals with out any pain whatsoever! In fact, my plantar fasciitis has completely disappeared from wearing these sandals! I highly recommend! i would have given them a 5 star rating, but when i wear them without socks, they are a little uncomfortable on the bottom of my foot. I've been wearing them with socks and they are the best!

Keens NEVER disappoint !! I do mission trips all over the world, my last pair of Keens held up through trekking in Nepal, and rainy wet monsoonal weather. The Whisoer is an awesome lightweight and durable sandal. If you’re looking for something with a little more grippy/ hiking on the bottom, and a thicker toe coverage, the Newport is the Keen for you! I have four pairs of whispers, and two pairs of Newport’s! I do wear them out, just because I am a bigger girl and the foot bed gets squished.

I didn’t see anything in the description of this being a wide shoe but it felt that way. Easy to put on and off and very comfortable, but I had lots of room in the toe box. I have a bunion and still had more than enough room. Like I think I would have had too much if I had normal feet. They also made my feet look big. A little clown shoe-esk I also think that if It were really hot, these shoes would make your feet stink. Time will tell.

I find these sandals very comfortable. I wouldn't say they go well with skirts, but if you do a lot of walking, these are great. Typically I prefer to wear a sneaker or hiking boots when going on long walks/hikes but I found I can where these and be comfortable. Very sturdy and comfortable. I actually have 2 pair, one in blue and one in brown.

These sandal are so comfortable. I was dreading having to wear them in as I had to do with my Teva ones that rubbed so much, but haven’t had a problem so far. I go for long dog walks through woodland areas where the ground is all different levels and find these sandals are sturdy enough. They look really nice and are not clumpy looking. The one thing I would say is that I found my normal shoe size to be too narrow fitting, (and I don’t have wide feet), so I returned them,(without any hassle) for a half a size up from my normal size and they fit much better. I would definitely recommend

It has taken me a long time to spend this kind of money on a pair of sandals but these Keen ones are worth it. They are very hard wearing, last for years, stylish and remain intact on the top of the sandal for a long time, unlike most cheaper sandals.
