Horrible product, even worse customer service.
I bought this product and 5 uses later it broke while I was pulling someone’s disc from a tree. When I wrote the company I got an email back stating the it’s an excellent product and it works well if you use it right. The sales rep even stated that when the pole is extended that you cannot apply any side to side or up or down force. How are you supposed to retrieve your disc with this thing if it can’t take any force. This is not worth the money. And if you have problems, good luck with that.

UPDATE!!! Horrible design! GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!
UPDATE: I feel the need to amend my previous review of the Kwik-Stik. After leaving a similar review in a "contact us" directly on their website, I was contacted by InZone's amazing customer service. After several conversations between them and myself, I can honestly say they 100% stand behind their product, service, and customers. My original negative review I'm sure had to do with the fact that I was extremely frustrated by throwing my disc into the water in the fist place. Drying off in my car while writing the review probably didn't help either. Either way, these people are disc golfers just like you and me. They truly love the sport and felt for me in my situation. Simply put, InZone's customer service is top notch and I WILL do business with them again. Sounds like they have some exciting new products on the horizon. I will be first in line. Thank you InZone. This is a horrible design! Why couldn’t you just put some sort of cotter pin on it or something? Literally lost my disc AND the end of the retriever in a stream - the very first time I used it! Is there some sort of warranty for just the end? Now it’s completely useless. And now they are going to say it’s over the 90 days - I haven’t needed it until now!!! Literally the first time using it!

Let's see how this goes
I bought this product because of the cotter pin post. It was easy and took about 20 minutes, but I had everything laying around that I needed (big clamp, drill, assorted cotter pins, heat gun). Hopefully not was worth the effort, we'll see. This product could probably be improved if they drilled the hole for you and gave you the cotter pin.

It will save you money.
Started discing march 2020 . My friends and I were losing discs in the usual places. I still have it just doesn’t have that shine anymore. The cons the rubber sleeve that you use to connect the head to the telescoping pole is ok for the first couple uses. I plan on fixing it with a mechanical type lock. The thinnest part of the pole is very weak I’ve had to cut the pole twice and slightly reconstruct with screws. Would I buy this specific retriever again? Probably not unless I really needed a replacement and everywhere is sold out . At least I would know what I need to correct before use. I’ll finish on a plus although this retriever has slowly been falling apart it’s saved my friends and I quite a bit of money on replacements.

It’s a wrap.
You don’t need a heat gun, it’s the tool for the job for sure but you can use a torch lighter if your careful and you use the heat not the flame. That said I would scrap the shrink wrap and grab a drill bit. Paul’s comment about the cotter pin is spot on and I detailed my options within his comment thread however here are some pictures!Best of luck with your disc retrieval’s!

Received the item with missing parts. Very bad quality for $50.
Doesn't fit in larger bags very well because of the tip. Received this product without the red plastic to connect the tip to the base. I used gorilla glue to hold it temporarily but I still need to find a way to stabilize this piece. Overall, one of the worst disc golf products I have purchased and I wouldn't recommend to anyone else!

Heat Shrink Attachment is Bad Design
First disclaimer: I didn’t read the description carefully and I missed the bullet about needing a heat gun to connect the pieces. BUT, the fact that I have to “assemble” myself with a heat gun is silly. Is it that hard to ship assembled and attached already? Considering this thing is $65, I never would have expected that I have to go through this much trouble to put it together. I’m not a handy guy. I don’t own a heat gun. I don’t have a torch lighter. I’m sitting here with a grill striker trying to heat shrink these two things together. Why is the quality of this product dependent on my heat shrinking skills? This is a major major design flaw for me. Let’s hope I don’t lose the head/frame 18 feet out in a mud pit.

Worth the price.
This tool made up for the cost first day out. My family is new to disc golf. We live where we have many water hazards. The first day we brought this stick with us we rescued 3 discs from the water and retrieved a strangers disc from a tree. Worked well. Appreciate the length and it was nice to get the discs back and not risk disturbing the alligators.
