When I first opened the box, the blue seal/liner that goes around the edge of the lid was coming out and was a little wrinkled. And I thought, dang, did I just buy some crap? NOPE -- I did not, these bins are awesome. I had to tuck the sealing liner back into the lid initially, but it stays put now, and the bins are really great. Unlike other bins where the lids sag or bulge, these bins stay sealed shut all the way around. The double handles add to the sturdy closure, and they stack well. I'm buying some more :)I haven't put them in direct rain, but gave 5 stars for weatherproof, because I put a sheet and a blanket in one and it's been on my back porch in 95 degrees and 100% humidity for weeks, and both are so dry as a bone when I open the bin (not to mention the fact that, even though they appear small, I can FIT a sheet and a blanket in the bin lol).

I genuinely do think these are airtight. They don't just claim to seal tightly, they actually seal perfectly. You line the lid atop the container, snap the clips, and it's sealed. I use two of these in my refrigerator for long-term storage of seeds for the gardens. Everything stays perfectly dry, ideal seed storage. But if you needed a bin to keep photos in, or craft materials ... I believe I could drop these into a filled bathtub and they would not leak. Excellently made. And larger than I expected... 17 inches long, about 11 3/4 inches wide, and 6 1/2 inches deep. Solid construction, these will last for years.

I love these pails/buckets. They are sturdy and strong. They close airtight and I am well pleased with these.

I got this based on Wirecutter’s top choice for airtight storage. We’ve had some food waste due to on/off pest problems in Brooklyn and I just wanted a pest proof system for our pantry items. Although not as cute as Muji or the ikea 360 storage systems, this size fit perfectly in the shelves of our kitchen island. I’d guess that these are way more sturdy and could store much heavier items safely. It’s only been a week but I’m really happy. We didn’t need all 4 but we’ll find another use for the others.Unfortunately one of the boxes had a busted lid but they immediately shipped me a whole new set before I could even send them the set with the one broken latch. I think this was more likely a fluke or mishandling in distribution/shipment rather than the product itself though. I do wish they could’ve just replaced the box, it doesn’t seem ecological to send 4 new ones and me send 4 back when one small piece is broken, but that’s probably for efficiency and cost reasons.

I have had issues with pest (moths) recently. They invaded my pantry. I never knew that they could be such a problem before this. Now that I have these containers the food is safe and secure. These containers close, snap locked and stay close. They are a good size for putting ceral boxes , sugar, baking mixes,etc. They came on time and as described.

IRIS across its products has received so many negative reviews that I thought there was no way I'd purchase it. But, given Amazon's great return policy I decided to test the product. It is perfect. All containers were received in perfect condition. The seal seems to be a foam of some tight. The four securing devices work perfectly as well. Now, I only received these and will immediately put them to use. If there is an issue I will update this post.

Love how sturdy they are and they open and close easily and frustration free. Will be ordering the other sizes too, hopefully they don't vary in quality. The soft seal in the cap did have the tendency to fall out but still love these and shouldn't be a problem. If it continues, I'll just glue it. Still 5 stars from me.
