Just the best, hands down. Pro approved for Audio
What can I say, Cardas Quad Eutectic solder is by far the BEST out there. Hands down, I’ve tried them all. From cheap hobby store “silver solder” to the most expensive boutique brands.I restore/repair/upgrade/design Hi end Audio gear. Names like MCIntosh, Conrad Johnson, Cary, etc. equiptment that rivals cars in price sometimes. I need the best. Cardas is it.If you don’t understand the meaning/science behind Euctectic solder, look into it, the more you know.Great for beginners to start with, it’s very very easy to work with. Leaving perfect shiny solid solder work.I see a lot of “amateur soldering” and let me tell you. Most people who “can solder”, can’t.Make sure to use the correct iron, temp and procedure for your work. Also, a solid mechanical connection is always required. Wrap your wire/leads at least once. Use terminals or solder tags, and make sure nothing moves while the solder sets. I see so many cracked, failed, cold solder joints. Also with the Vintage gear becoming popular and everyone being a tech now and “re-capping”, I’m amazed some of these pieces of gear still work. People, just touching the two ends and soldering is not enough. J-hook or use a terminal to join. The joint should be sufficient even WITHOUT solder. The solder should only be needed to “lock” the mechanical joint once hardened. This stuff hardens equally across the metal combo, making for an incredibly safe, solid, secure joint.Ive used Cardas for over a decade and never an issue with a cold solder. I buy the 1lb rolls quite a bit as I use so much. However, a single $30 roll will last the normal hobbiest a lifetime.Nice and thin making waste less of an issue. Again, if you’re going to get into serious work in audio gear. Use Cardas quad eutectic and a good adjustable solder station. Hakko makes a great rig for $100 on Amazon. You can’t beat it At the price and will last a lifetime.Realize PCB and point to Point applications require a much different approach. (Temp) Also, those recapping x-overs, use a heat sink(2-4$) to protect those expensive new caps. Leads heat up quickly and most noobs aren’t quick with an iron.Less is more, both in time heating and solder used. Finally, remember that a shiny joint is needed. Re-due bad solders than and there. Don’t wait til they’re a problem. With what people spend on caps and wire, spring for good solder.Cardas is a real player in the metallurgy game for a long time, fortunately for us audio heads.***no affiliation at all to Cardas. Usually I don’t post positive reviews. When it’s needed it’s needed.

Great soldering wire
This is a really good wire for soldering. Honestly, I find it overpriced but as it is superior to other products, it is tolerable. It makes it easy to do a clean job and the spec are fine for high quality project such as audio gears for instance.I have read in the below comments that this product would be fake and the real Cardas supposedly better than this product would have a black packaging instead of this white packaging.Don't let that affect your judgement. I have contacted Cardas to ask them and they told me this is the same product. Black packaging is their old design, white packaging is the new and current design.

Excellent solder - clean, efficient and certainly meets the Cardas top-notch standard of quality
Excellent solder - a hidden gem. Proper size (~0.81mm) which is important as anything above 0.8 or so is really pushing it for most electronic work, certainly precision work with audio. It's not the cheapest solder, but it's not that expensive considering the quality you get from Cardas. It melts at a very low temperature, which is always good for the longevity of your product/PCB, and it flows beautifully. I did not need to use any extra flux wiring many 24AWG wires and SMD components - the solder provides a clean, smooth flow and the joints come out very nicely. Of course, a proper iron with good tips and technique is essential in soldering, but the Cardas solder provides an easy, efficient, waste-free product for all types of electronic work and certainly in the high end audio sector.

Best Solder Period!!
This is by far my favorite solder for a variety of reason first it is leaded this is a good sign as a lot of lead free solders have a high reputation of making cold joints. Next it is great because it uses great flux even if i got some oil from my fingers onto some of the joints i NEVER had a cold solder joint using this solder. It also is a Eutectic mix this means that it has a very low melting point compared to other solders and that all the metals in it are at least 99.99% pure. This solder also has both silver and copper in it and to anyone who knows how conductive those metals are would point out they are the 2 most conductive metals out of any other it is still mainly tin and lead but this is a nice touch for "audiophile" connections. Overall i would say this is the best solder I've ever used. But keep in mind that it is leaded so you should work with it in a well ventilated area or with a fume extractor. Also keep in mind that it does use rosin flux which means you should get a flux cleaner if you don't want your circuit board covered in the flux residue.

This is the good stuff
I have used a variety of solders over the years. Problems using the wrong solder can include the following: poor connections and brittleness, difficulty with heating the solder to the right temperature, especially if it contains the wrong combination of ingredients... which many do for the average user. This Eutectic Cardas solder melts fast, heats well, gives you nice connections... it's just easy to use and very effective: Yes it costs more, but it's soooo well worth it!Sheerness? What are they asking you to say here? I don't know.

Great stuff
Flows great, makes for a solid joint.

Like Liquid silver!!
This solder is amazing, I used this to join a connection of 2/0 battery cables, and this did the job very well. I was pleased at the rather low temp this solder flowed into the center of the connection. And how well the the joint looked after it cooled. Cleaned up very well and allowed the heat shrink tubing to lay nicely over the connection. I will always make sure to have some of this on hand.

Excellent solder found that it melted the best at 350 ...
Pros: Excellent solder found that it melted the best at 350 degrees. I used it mainly for through hole soldering and had very few problems. Flows very smoothly. The silver content is high enough that it conducts very well. This solder reworks extremely well had a couple of fowl ups and had no issue fixing them,Cons: There was a lot of shrink wrap holding the solder together and it took forever to remove. Something that i noticed but was not an issue was the amount of flux that the solder contains internally not terrible just more then i was used to.
