WonproWA-5 Universal Power Adaptor (Converts UK/EU to US, Black)

I bought this item when I realized that my friend from the UK had left my old adaptor attached to her hair dryer when she departed for England. I was left with no means of plugging in my UK-bought computer and so hastily ordered the first adaptor I could find. Since it arrived I've been using it to power my computer, and it's doing just as well as my last one... It's an adaptor that does it's job, it's relatively cheap and you could do a lot worse.

I have use for this device no matter what it's design is, but my criticism concerns how it is described:it is IMPOSSIBLE to know the design of the 'socket' side , for that is hidden from view. I would have preferred that the socket have it's 'main' slots be an an angle, rather than the alternate style possessed by this unit: where those slots for 220VAC are 'in line' with each other .. I'll try to draw here:Really wanted: o \ /but this unit has: o _ _(hope this reproduces to show correctly! .. Forgive me if it doesnt ...)

I'm a Brit living in the USA, so this is the perfect adaptor for allowing me to plug in my remaining UK-plugged (dual-voltage!) appliances. Not bulky, with 3 pins and good quality.

I thought "UK/EU" would include the Schuko design common throughout the EU and specifically Germany. I can fit Schuko on there, but it's not grounded in that case.

I was frantic and nearly hysterical when I returned to the states from Tanzania and realized that I had left my US adaptor for my Palm Pilot in Tanzania. All my contacts, all my dates and calendars sat in a state of half battery life. I first went to my trusty Office Depot, and then to travel companies--no African (or British) to US adaptors. I scoured the Amazon spaces for a power adaptor that reversed to US, and finally found this one, the wonpro WA-5 Universal Power Adaptor Converting UK, EU and believe it or not Tanzania, to US. Euphoria! If I had gotten the more frequent notice that I have been receiving from Amazon lately--"We apologize but this product is no longer available. You will not be billed for this item", I would have hung myself from a tree. Instead, Eurika, I now have a charged Palm Pilot at all times and I am free again. It works great!

This is not a Wonpro Adaptor, but a knock-off. Even the photo Amazon displays is of the knock-off (if you examine the photo closely the words "Wonpro" which should appear on the top face are missing. Amazon has refused to accept the adaptor's return.

This item is not made by WanPro and is clearly a fake knockoff made by some shady unscrupulous dealer. Don't buy it just to save a dollar as it might be poorly made, result in damage to your equipment, pose an electrocution or fire hazard. Buy the original WonPro products- I've purchased a number of them and they are outstanding.
