Works great. Have an antique motorcycle without a Tach. Wanted to accurately adjust the idle rather than doing it by sound. Clipped the clamp on the spark plug wire and instantly had a digital readout of rpm. Wonderful product.

My old chainsaw's carburetor finally needed some fine tuning, and I was having difficulty finding the sweet spot by ear, so I finally broke down and bought this little tachometer. I don't plan to attach it to a piece of equipment but merely wanted something to hold in my hand or rest on a bench as I revved up the engine. The clamp makes this easy to accomplish, and the length of the wire allows it to rest on something a safe distance from the chainsaw. Easy to read dial and in no time my chainsaw was idling and accelerating smoothly.

Very inexpensive device that pays for itself inone carburetor setup.

Slow refresh rate but accurate.

This worked okay at lower RPM , but the readout was jumpy and unreadable at higher RPM. For me, this tachometer wasn't really usable for chainsaws.

Used for tuning chainsaw high rpms , worked well without wire and clamp hooked up . Just put it close to sparkplug to read rpms . Dont know how accurate it is , but it worked .

Used this on my 1989 V6 outboard to figure out lack of power. Just clamp around each plug wire and reading balanced and set within a second or two. Remember to use the clear button between tests. This thing was the solution I needed after a year of troubleshooting finally got a real motor again! Thanks seller!

You can use it by just holding it close to a sparkplug wire or use the clip on the wire if that works better for you. It is the only thing I have so I don't know how accurate it is.
