When filled with water, how long does it mist? Does it run out quickly or last a few hours?

I wouldn’t recommend running it for hours. It does not run out quickly but when the water runs out it comes with something to fill it back up.

Did not come with instructions. Figured all out except how to remove ‘water cap’. Do you twist or pull off?

Does this come with a play mat?

No. There is one that comes with a play mat and dinosaurs. I specifically bought this one since I only wanted to volcano. My son has too many dinosaurs already.

I want to use this a cake topper will it be too big?

That would be fun ! It would have to be a nice size round cake ! The volcano is at my grandson’s so I can’t measure
