Legacy Decor3 Tier Wooden Bookshelf Bookcase Shelves White Finish 36" High

I love the bookcase. HOWEVER -- and a BIG HOWEVER, the screws that were included weren't correct. I assembled the bookcase as I went along, so I didn't realize the mistake until only the top was left to attach. Not wanting to undo my assembly, and thinking that I could get four screws, I threw away the packing -- I mean four screws are so much smaller and lighter than the bookcase, right? Ha! I'm not sure which utopia I thought I was in. The seller won't replace the screws because I obtained the bookcase through Amazon and not through them. Another thought: the screws become tight at different depths so that some are quite recessed and other are flush w/the surface of the wood. The recessed screws are unsightly, but I don't think my students will notice. The bookcase will serve the purpose for which I bought it, so I will look at a couple of local hardware stores for replacements or buy some strong wood glue. I will not ever buy again from this seller again either directly or through Amazon because of their unwillingness to correct a problem created by a mistake that was theirs

I'm very pleased with this bookcase. Unfortunately, as the last step in putting this together, I turned the top upside down to secure the body to it and found a label that states "This product contains chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm."

Any no-additional-tools listed furniture that requires a power drill because the manufacturer didn't drill all the holes is a problem. One with incomprehensible instructions is a problem. One where the top splinters when I place a securing screw is a problem. One with divots where some prefab holes aren't completely filled by the wooden pegs (the thin back straps) is a problem. I'll keep it because shipping it back would cost so much, and I can hide the damage and shabby bits. But if you are looking for anything higher grade than college student furniture or that doesn't require some work and critical thinking, this is not it. I'm already starting to regret that I didn't spend a bit more money for something less problematic. When I move, this might well be given away instead of moved. It would be a perfectly adequate gardening shelving unit; it's just not much of an indoor piece.

Great value, pretty, and easy to assemble. The box showed some damage so I was afraid I would find a bunch of damaged pieces but, to my surprise, everything was perfect. I purchased 2 of these to hold books behind the couch and they look great, very red cherry wood finish. I assembled them myself, very easy and quick set up. Do take care to assemble it over a rug or blanket to prevent scratching the finish, it does scratch very easily. Overall I am a happy customer!

Not solid wood! Only a few parts are like a few of the uprights. It looks okay but the shelves are also quite short and cannot handle children's picture books. Quite disappointed.

Everything arrived in great condition and all pieces fit together accurately. It's not natural cherry wood, but the finish is very nice for the price. If you happen to have a few small white spots showing on some corner edges, just touch it up with a furniture marker. This looks very nice in baby's room.

Slight damage in shipping revealed that the bookcase is NOT solid wood. The top is apparently a thin vinyl faux veneer over composite and cardboard. Had I discovered this the first time I purchased the product, I would not have bought others. Some one at Amazon needs to vet that the descriptive copy on products is accurate. This is an unacceptable business practice.

I think this shelf is WAY overpriced. Thin wood, shelves are non-adjustable. Not what I expected at all. Was missing a two screws but I improvised. I'd pass if you're thinking of ordering this shelf.
