So far so good
I've NEVER grown mushrooms before, and the mushrooms that I'm growing are still colonizing, so my review may change, but not by much. Any failed growth from this point forward will probably be the result of user error. So far: No signs of contamination! I inoculated 1 week ago (on 8/10/2020). I did 2 cc's in one bag, and about 4 cc's in the other, because I had read that others who were growing my species inoculated with higher cc's - which brings me to my next point.FOLLOW THE FUNGUS FARM INSTRUCTIONS FOR GROWING. Being new to growing mushrooms, I felt like I was doing the wrong thing when getting started. I was questioning the process and started looking at other directions for growing from a grow bag. UNLESS YOU HAVE SOME FAMILIARITY WITH GROWING MUSHROOMS, FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS PROVIDED BY FUNGUS FARMS WEBSITE. Looking at other guides for growing mushrooms just had me concerned I was growing the wrong way, because Fungus Farms uses a different growing process - a lot of others advise that you inject straight into the bag without breaking up the substrate, but fungus farms suggests you break up the substrate prior to injection, and after. I don't know the reason for this but it probably works better for colonizing their substrate mix.Anyway, the bag that I inoculated with 4 cc's is doing better than my bag that was inoculated with 2 cc's. The one injected with 4 cc's is about 50% colonized, and the one injected with 2 cc's is barely showing signs of growth - one or two white spots, no signs of contamination. I think I got lucky injecting more than advised, because I don't know anything about growing mushrooms, there's a lot of room for error, like, injecting more inoculate may not have gone in my favor and I could've wasted my spores and a grow bag. But I planned for failure, which is why I bought an extra grow bag.Update 8/30/2020: I introduced fruiting conditions on 8/25/2020 and I'm happy to report that the mycelium is still going strong! I've been struggling to maintain humidity, but I've got a sturdy strain of mushrooms. One of the bags had a bit of a funky smell, like mildew-y, while the other just smelled like fresh mushrooms. I decreased humidity in the musty one and hoped it wasn't contaminated. The smell went away. I've been VERY impatient with growing mushrooms, but apparently mine have colonized faster than what is typical of my strain. Full colonization usually takes about a month, but it only took two weeks for me! I thought growing mushrooms would be a one-off thing for me, but I can see this turning into a hobby and I'll definitely be purchasing from fungus farms again!

No joy with my efforts - $100 not well spent.
Of the several bags I purchased and inoculated none have borne fruit. One of the first two developed green mold along with some mycelium. The second just never fully developed. The third reached full mycelium growth but after cutting the bag according to the instructions nothing further happened and it now appears to be developing a green mold. The fourth showed signs of mycelium around the injection port. After a few days I shook it and now there are no signs of mycelium at all. I have another bag but I'm not sure if I want to use up spores trying to prove that the fifth time is the charm.I have grown mushrooms in the past with BRF and vermiculite in Mason Jars so this is very disappointing. But the responsibility is mine.

Worked Well, then it all fell apart once I looked inside the bag.
DOES NOT FRUIT, CONTAMINATED. (Please just buy something else, I’m out $40 from this)

WET MUSH NOT SUITABLE FOR MUSHROOM GROWTH
WOW. I got one of these and it worked well, except it didn’t fruit and I assumed that was my fault somehow. So I ordered another with the intention of doing some things differently... only to be horribly disappointed at a bag of wet mush. Completely unusable. I don’t even know what to say other than don’t waste your time. Just get the grain spawn and jars from midwestgrowkits. I’ve never had an issue with them.

Don’t buy
Purchased a grain bag from them, I created my sterile environment to grow my mushrooms. I put my spore syringe in the bag. As it started to colonize it was all wrong. Come to find out a small slit was in the crease of the bag. Just don’t buy grain bags off amazon. Go somewhere where you know you will be getting sterile grain. Money down the drain.

One Stinky Dud, the other is SO slow.. maybe stalled
First time grower so... I ordered these and a 4 pack of jars from another seller. I stored them in their box in a fairly cool room. When I inoculated them, one had a slight odor, but I tried anyway. This bag never spawned, just got stinkier. The other bag had some growth, not much but it looks ok. I Shook it up, but it hasn’t recovered yet, it’s been a week. I’ve already moved the jars to substrate, and still nothing. Thing is I used the same spores in those jars and those went great. I’ve since trashed the other bag cuz it was making my place smell every time I opened the cabinet. We’ll see if the other bag yields anything, but the same spores from same batch are already starting to colonize in their shoeboxes so pretty sure it’s not them.
