Awesome Little Fire Pit Kid-Friendly
The media could not be loaded. We just purchased a new home in the country last summer, the only thing it doesn’t have is a fire place. We decided to get this cute little fire pit as a gift to ourselves last Christmas and it doesn’t disappoint. This cute little pit was easy to assemble, functional and safe for our kids to be around. We placed it on our screened in patio on four 12x12 pavers (purchased at our local big box hardware store). We filled the pit with sand and lava rocks per the instructions as a base for the fire wood. We’ve had it for three months and far it has been durable and safe for our three kids under 5 to be around and roast marshmallows. Starting a fire is very easy and we use the mesh dome which helps a lot with cinders. Our kids love it and we love it too on the few cozy, chilly Florida nights we get per year.We haven’t used the grill top yet but it’s an awesome feature to be included. I also purchased the black heat resistant Rustoleum as suggested by other reviewers but decided I didn’t need it after reading the manufacturer’s instructions and because this will be used under a screened in lanai (and also because I purchased a protectant cloth cover for this item.) However, if I was using it primarily in the open exposed to the elements I would have pre-treated with the Rustoleum.TLDR: Awesome small-scale fire pit with great accessories. Worth every penny for family fire nights.

Nice Fire Pit
My daughter picked this out after our other pit rusted to death. When it came I was surprised with the few pieces it came with and I put it together in about fifteen minutes or so. It even came with a grill accessory that I didn't know it came with so it it will be nice to cook hamburgers or hot dogs on. We know we are gonna have some good times out around this fire pit with the kids. It looks very nice with the moon and stars around it and we have received compliments on it. It has a deep pot and it is actually bigger than what the pictures show which surprised me. You can pile a few logs in there and it holds up just fine and puts off plenty of face melting heat. Once it all burns down you have nice hot coals in the bottom which is the ideal time to put the grill part on and fix some hot dogs. Though we haven't used it yet I know soon we will. We usually just roast hot dogs and I don't really want to use marshmallows since they are so messy. My kids don't eat them and only wanna burn them and smear them on the ground or whatever. The one issue I have is even though I have used some high heat rust proof paint on it I have noticed a couple of spot of rust on the outside. I didn't expect that so fast. The next issue is cleanup since the entire thing is one big piece I have to pick it up and dump it out. Currently I don't have sand in the bottom which was recommended to prevent rust. This will probably replace the grill I was planning on getting eventually. I can see this thing holding up for awhile and we thus far are really enjoying it. It looks nice and I am really looking forward to our time around it since its kind of become a every other weekend thing.

Nice, small size firepit
I needed a suitable replacement for our "burn barrel" (yes, I live in the country) to burn boxes in. Plus, it would do double duty as a firepit and something to roast marshmallows with my granddaughter. This came, and I did take my time setting it up. I put in a bottom layer of sand, and put 4 ceramic (heat resistant) 18 inch tiles on top of the sand, as an alternative to fire bricks. I also have a camo grill cover over the firepit when it is not being used. This suits my needs perfectly! We can put boxes in the pit and put the screen cover over them for safety. Once the fire is out and the pit has cooled, we can cover it again to protect from the elements. I am very happy with this purchase. Can't wait until the late spring, summer, so that I can try it out as a grill, also. This is not actually cast iron. Just looks like it.... but if you take care of it, and prep it as directed, it should last quite a few seasons, I think.

Great size, great value, great price!
This thing is so great I'm adding to my original post a few years ago. My fire pit is now 8 years old and still going strong. It sits outside all year round but I try to keep it covered and that has really helped. Last year some rust had started to show through on the bottom, so I painted it with heat resistant matte black paint, and it looked like new! The spark cover is a little dented now but still does it's job. It has really been well worth what I paid!Ownedd this four years and still using it all the time! I actually just recommended this to a friend looking for a nice sized firepit for his patio, and I realized I had owned mine for four years! I guess that qualifies me to make a solid review. First, it was easy to assemble (or I'd probably still be talking about it, only in a negative review). It comes with a spark cover and a grill insert too. Things I like: I can move it around on my patio. It sits high enough it doesn't stain my patio flagstone. It has a ring around it for moving, or for putting your feet on. It has nice cut-outs (sun, moon, and stars - not too kitschy). Did I mention I've been using it constantly for four years? And, just ensuring it stays covered when not in use, it has little rust (actually, the rust it does have makes it look even more rustic without interfering with the usage). The key, dear readers who have given bad reviews because theirs rusted, is that it is METAL...and exposed to high heat. So if you leave it out in the elements without a cover, it is going to rust. This isn't a Ferrari. However, don't just get a cover which shields the top; get one which covers the firepit to the ground so that rain (and snow) just don't get to it.In any case, I've been happy with mine.

Poor quality
I previously owned and used one of these for 5 years before the metal bowl thinned and one of the legs snapped off. Because of this good performance I bought an identical replacement. However, manufacturing was shoddy and cheap. Each leg attachment relies on two tack welds that shear off when tightened to the bowl. Each should be fully welded at this location to provide strength. Because a metal fabrication workshop quoted $100 to reinforce all 3 legs with proper welds, I returned the unit.

Great quality!
I would buy this again just for the fire stick! it's big and well made! The firepit is sturdy and easy to assemble. I added some drain holes and sand. Good to go!

Good product
Only used it a couple of times and it works well. It is big enough but will satisfy those with a small back yard. Wish it came with a cover, however.

Perfect for a Backyard
Great firepit for a backyard where you don't want a permanent one built. Looking at one at Cabela's that was similar, but $50+ more. Ended up looking up the brand name on here and found this one, with a different cutout design.

Strange smell
Very happy. Burns nice, nice grill. The only comment I have is that for the first hour of burning there was a chemical smell. Not strong but it was there so I figured probably something to do with the coating. Maybe there’s a note in the manual about this but I didn’t see it. So let it burn for a few hours before you do any cooking or roasting on it
