Good quality boots, but
The size of the boots is think of one size and half larger than I thought,I have to return even with a bit "shoes filler" feel loose, sadly I have to return wish they can exchange, but there no a option.Really like the boots

Good quality boots, true to size!
The media could not be loaded. Since size is always a big concern when buying shoes, it took a long time for me to make the decision (I was worried because of some reviews on Amazon). I'm glad I ordered them in size 12. I have 2 pairs of Timberland boots, sizes 12 and 13, and they are just as big as these Caterpillar boots, so, in my opinion, these are true to size. However, you should be aware of the width, because you can choose between medium width and wide width (Check the sizing chart on the details page). The inside of these boots is not very cushioned. I would have liked them better if they were more cushioned around the ankle area, because it feels like the leather fits tighly to your foot there, it's a narrower area on the boot. The finger area has plenty of room for your fingers (even though I ordered them in medium width, and I have wide feet) so they wouldn't bother you there. The sock liner (or removable insole?) is very simple, nothing hi-tech, just an insole you can remove, which appears to have little arch support and is made of some high density foam (EVA, according to Cat Footwear website), but I could recommend buying a more comfortable insole (you can get them from several manufacturers here on Amazon). Timberland's comfort insoles will fit them nicely, because I compared the insole to the Timberland boot's insoles I have, and they are almost identic. Anyway, there are several manufacturers you can get them from.Boots look really well built, they seem durable, and have a nice design. The leather is thick, strong, so I'm sure it can take serious action. The outsole appears to be high density, which means it shoul be durable. In summary (My case):True to size!Enough room for your fingersNarrower at ankle area (fit a little tightly around your ankle)Good design, color and constructionHigh quality leather (thick & strong)Interior could be more cushioned (specially around the ankle)Very simple insole (not too comfortable)Appearantly durable outsole (high density rubber)I'm giving them 4 stars by now. I'll update later after I had worn them more often and seen how they perform. I'll upload a video where you'll see them properly (and side by side with another boots for size comparison). Sorry again for my English, I'm not a native speaker!.

Overall
Ok, love, love, love these boots, is all I can say. The only thing I'd say negative is that they're a little stiff. Having worn military boots numerous years. I'm used to it. I'd say take moleskin and wrap around top of inside so doesn't wear at ankles until it softens. I wear boots a lot and these were surprisingly a great buy. As far as sizing buy 1/2 size smaller and you're ok. Whole size smaller would be too small for any expansion be it feet swell, socks, or anything else. Thank you whoever suggested that. It was perfect. Ps. I normally add an insert as yet haven't had to add one. Wearing few weeks several all day including small 2-4 mile hike. Not waterproof though at all does wonders. After wearing everyday, hiked few miles various rocky terrain and street I love these boots. I'm a boot guy and they're great. Was a bit suspect as not my normal merrell or keen, jungle or jump boots but they're great. Threw a brush shine as it's my preference and get compliments all the time. I dont even have an insert in them yet. I'd seriously pay 150 w/o a doubt if they last. So far so good. Btw added polish and silicon and now pretty water right which is what I do to all boots period.

Very Nice, Stylish Work Boot
Four stars only because I've not had them long enough to speak about their durability.I've only had these boots a short while, so I can't say anything about durability. BUT, I can tell you that my first impression when I opened the box was, "whoa, do I really want to use and abuse these out in the fields"? The color is more of an 'antique or scuffed brown' as opposed to just a basic dark brown color, and the style is much nicer than a typical work boot. I'd say 'perfect' for an office worker who may have to work in the field once in awhile, i.e. Engineer etc.As for size, I'd say everyone is right. Do Not add a half size to be on the safe side...they are right on, if not a bit more. 12 Wide or 2E was hard to find in the US but crazy enough an Amazon vendor in the UK had them and got them to me in four days.Needless to say, I'm very happy with these boots/shoes. Oh yeah, as an afterthought, a couple of my son's college buddies actually commented on how "nice looking" they are.

Great boot, just know what to expect
So far these shoes are exactly what I was looking for. I work in construction but also spend time at a desk as well as walking job sites. I wanted something that fit the bill as a leather boot but had a little more style and comfort than your average clunky work boot. I wouldn't recommend these for the average contractor in the field as they're a little on the fruity side and you'd probably get laughed off the site by that 300 lb glazer wearing Redwings. For me though, I can walk a site and then head to a lunch meeting and not look so out of place next to the guy in the suit. I also replaced the stock insoles with some nice cushy Dr Scholls and now they're even more dreamy. Note that the ankle area has little to no padding, so that takes some breaking in and getting used to, but I don't find it an issue. Also, the sole is very rugged, so tracking mud and dirt may be an issue for some people. And finally as others have mentioned, go down at least one half if not one whole size as these run much bigger than any of my other shoes.

Buy at least a smaller size, unless you want clown shoes!
I am a UK 7.5, so I float between a 7 and 8 in sizes, depending on manufacturer. I read that these come up large, so went for a 7, which looked like clown shoes on me! I have now received the size 6, which are just right in length, but a little narrow around the ball of my foot, so the sizing is very odd. They are not so narrow that I don't think that the leather will stretch nicely to result in a pair of well fitting boots after a few weeks, so I have kept the size 6.I opted for the 7's in Blackout, which is a dark and dirty brown colour. They were OK, but the next pair I thought I would try the Dark Beige and much prefer these. The pictured colour is pretty close to what you get, so no complaints here. The quality seeme pretty good, nice stitching and reasonable quality leather, with no sign of excess glue where the sole meets the uppers. If they last, I will be very happy with the purchase. Dropped a star for the sizing, as they are not even close to what they should be in size, resulting in hassle to return and replace them. I estimate between 1 to 1.5 sizes too large.

Nice pair of work-casual boots.
Reputable company's take on stylish work-casual footwear. Fairly understated look, and the leather upper should last longer than all that pleather out there. Good fit around the rear-to-mid part of my size 12 feet, with tons toe-box wiggle room. Can't complain about the quality, wish it were a bit cheaper (in price, that is).

Nice but with some reservations....
The jury is still out to be honest. I like them and I have the feeling that they will be comfortable after some wear but they are very hard right now and I will probably have to buy some more comfortable insoles. Compared to the other pair of Cats that I have had, which is why I bought another pair, they are not really as great as I would have expected. I don't hate them but I also don't love them (yet). It just annoys me a little to have to "wear them in" so to speak. I doubt that I would buy another pair or honestly recommend them. On the other hand maybe my other super comfortable pair also had to be worn it and I have just conveniently forgotten that :)

Great boot, but victim of Caterpillar sizing.
Great boot, fairly comfy, colour and looks are great. But.. Caterpillar can never seem to standardise their sizing. I wear a size 11 in most cases but have found Caterpillar always seem to go one size bigger, and I normally go at least one size down. This didn't work on this occasion, the 10 was too neat but the 11 is a half size bigger than other manufacturers. A UK 10.5 would have been perfect but no half sizes unfortunately. Planning to watch out for deals on other colours as they are otherwise a good boot.
