Square36 6'x4' Large Exercise Mat

This has got to be the most perfect exercise mat for full body workouts. I was very hesitant to purchase due to the price, but it was all worth it in the end! I read over many of the reviews and they looked very promising, so I decided to be a little spontaneous and purchase the mat. Now, I had been looking for a very specific type of mat prior to purchasing: Non-slip, big and something that would grip to a very slippery concrete garage floor. Something I could do my full body workouts on (Insanity, Jillian Michael's, ect). I searched everywhere and people gave me recommendations for those heavy duty puzzle mats (sorry for the bad explanation!) and I knew those would move around a lot on my slippery garage floor, so I looked elsewhere. I finally came across this mat, and like I said before, the price threw me off a bit. If I was going to spend this much money on something, it needed to be exactly what I was looking for. It couldn't just be "some" mat. The mat arrived early in the morning, which was perfect since I workout in the morning. I rolled out the mat right in the middle of my garage floor. The first thing I noticed was that it DID NOT budge! That was such a big deal for me since my garage floor is super slippery and I wanted to avoid injury during my intense workouts. I jump around a lot so it would be very bad if the mat slipped from underneath me. I also noticed that the corners of the mat were slightly rounded, but that was just because it came rolled up (the mat flattened out after a few uses!). I then switched into some active wear, popped in my favorite Burn Fat Boost Metabolism Jillian Michael's DVD and tested it out. Throughout the workout, the mat did not move once. It stayed put very nicely and I felt like I could move around without it slipping out from under me. I also noticed that I had a lot of control in my landing when doing moves like jump squats. The mat is also nicely sized for one person. I had a lot of room to do all my workouts (I'm 5'7 for reference). However, my sister was able to do some types of workouts on it with me, so its a pretty big mat. The only con I can think of is that the mat is somewhat slippery, especially if your hands are a little sweaty. You won't slip very easily, but it is kind of hard to stay in a plank position without your hands sliding a tiny bit. I have combated this issue by using a yoga mat on top of the mat and it works! I also think that a pair of fit grip gloves would come in handy (I'm thinking of buying some myself). All in all it is a very wonderful, durable mat and I am so happy I purchased it! Well worth the money.

EXCELLENT QUALITY MAT! And very cool customer service, too. Before I even had a chance to open up the mat and try it out for the first time, I received an email from the company with usage and care instructions. All great tips and info to preserve the life of the mat! THEN, I tried it out... Let me preface by saying, perhaps I have been using terrible mats all this time and any upgrade is an improvement, but I have to say this mat is excellent from the moment you roll it out. I'm excited to know that traction will improve with usage!! I have zero issues with traction and it's only been used twice. And I have zero issues with the mat moving around ( my two biggest complaints with all the mats). It's the perfect size: bigger than most but not too big that it won't fit in an average size room. I have been searching for a very long time for a larger mat I can use at home that does what it's supposed to do. I have finally found it. It's a little expensive but I am a true believer or in the old adage, you get what you pay for. This is definitely worth the investment. I'm hoping it lasts me for years

Wow-this rug met my expectations and met the qualities given in the products description. It arrived in top notch packaging. The rug came in its own carrying pouch and was wrapped in velcro. The rug itself is excellent. It has a rubber backing so I can use it on my hardwood floors without needing a slip protection underneath. I will definitely purchase from this company again. The rug is high quality and has a good thickness level to absorb impacts. I think the only thing I would have done different was to purchase a larger rug seeing how nice this one is. I am going to check out the other sizes they have available because this is the type of rug that would be good in my kitchen -high quality, attractive and durable. I also liked that the company said it was made of non-toxic materials. I wish I could find more products of this quality. It would be great if Amazon had a link to companies whose products were made in the US and were made of non-toxic materials. I would definitely be willing to pay more if I knew this is what I was getting.

This is a good, well-made mat that does protect my carpet, which is the main reason why I purchased it. However, the mat moves and bunches-up on the carpet shortly after starting my Insanity workout. I needed to put two 20pnd weights and two kitchen chairs on the edges of the mat to keep it from moving and bunching-up. It worked, somewhat, but was distracting. Other than that, the mat is good. However, for the price, I am disappointed due to the constant movement.

Very good mat, I like it very much. Taking out one star for a poor quality bands. Bands are not made from whole stripe, at the very first try to open it, one of the two bands just opened at a wrong place by itself, without any particular effort. But I found a way to use the damaged band anyway, see attached pictures. There is one picture of a good band as well for comparison, and two pictures of the damaged band, one picture shows how I use the broken off band now, it still manages to hold itself together this way. Also if you just leave it on the floor and do not save after each use, maybe bad bands are not even problem for you... depends on use case. Note that bands are not attached to the mat itself, when you open band they will be removed completely and you can put them aside, also easy to replace with any other band because of it. Overall, good product, I do like very much the mat, I would recommend to buy it.

I read the reviews on other mats, and made the decision to purchase this one for two main reasons: the other mat that I considered had so many negative comments about the extreme smell of rubber that did not go away, and size. This mat is the perfect size for the workouts that I do each day, and the material that it is made of, which is odorless, is a blend of the "highest grade natural and nontoxic materials." It arrived rolled in a box weighing a total of 13 pounds, (so easily manageable), and unrolled perfectly flat. It doesn't slide around at all, and there is no color or rubber crumbling off as described about the other mat. I placed it in the basement where I work out, the space is limited there, and my floor is cement with linoleum tiles covering the floor. I am very pleased with this product.

Excellent Mat. I have tried a lot of mats and have been disappointed. I decided to get a bigger mat. The reviews for this mat where excellent. I am happy to say this mat exceeded my expectations. It works excellent for P90X3 on my wood floors. No Slipping, not too heavy to roll and store. Traction with shoes is excellent. Hands slip a little but was advised it will get better with time and it has. It seems to come with a light coating on it maybe from production, storage, or being new, but it is getting better and better everyday. It is a little thin for the Yoga workout but I place a thin second mat on top and it does not slip. Extremely Satisfied with this purchase. The mat came in labeled differently from the photos. Customer service was excellent and responded to my email within 4 hours. They advised me the mat was the same in every way except the label was changed to bring it under the banner of the other mats they sell. They advised me they updated the Amazon listing to correct the photos and labeling. You will not be disappointed buying this mat.

I don't often write reviews b/c I never seem to find the time, but I am going out of my way to write one for this awesome exercise mat. I have been searching and searching and finally found the perfect one. It's not too thick (I have a low ceiling in the basement where workout area is, so didn't want something too thick) but thick enough that I can still do crunches and back routines without discomfort. It stays in place and looks high quality because it is! I esp. love the little label on the front of the mat, it just makes it look high end and classy. I LOVE this mat and can finally do my exercise videos without slipping around on those snap together mats or have sore legs from jumping around on the hard cement floors. Also, it's the perfect size to do all my exercises. Thank you for making such a great product!!
