Dress your koala with 5 outfits, but don't get the underpants dice!
This is a fun game to teach children to recognize different patterns and take turns trying to win the game. The aim is to collect 5 outfits, which sounds quite easy, as there are plenty of card outfits and you usually get at least 1 outfit each round you play and sometimes even get 2 outfits if you throw the dice with the shirt and pants on it. What makes it fun is when you think you're about to win and then you throw the underpants side, which means you have to take all the outfits off your koala and put them back in the center. The koala cards are flat except for the raised head part, and the outfit cards have a hole in them for the head to go through. If you look at the outfit cards, you can see they are outfits from different countries. Some are not as obvious. The cards are brightly colored. We have played quite a few rounds of this game, and the children in my daycare really enjoy it. The younger children (2 to 3 year olds) don't understand the dice throwing part and choosing according to what you threw, so they like to just pick any outfit and put it on their koala. The 4 and 5 year olds can play properly and like the competition of trying to get the 5 outfits to win, and everybody breaks out in laughter when first one, and then another person, throws the underpants dice! The 2 dice are large, so the children mostly throw one at a time. There are 5 koala cards, but we played with more children by putting them in pairs. Each child in the pair got to throw 1 dice for each round.

Very cute family game
My daughter wanted everything koala for her 5th birthday. I stumbled onto this product while searching for koala things and I ordered it. It's a fun, adorable game that helps kids learn how to follow instructions well, match things properly and it's easy to learn, my girls don't even need me to play which is another reason I love it. We play together or sometimes they wanna play with each other only. The box is small so it's easy to bring this game with you anywhere or play right at home. Anywhere you play you'll have a good time.

OT grandma approved!
Live this toy! I have used it in school with my students and with my grandkids. Even my 2yo grand daughter plays this. You roll the dice (2 dice) on patterned and one clothing pieces, including the underwear. The kids absolutely love this as there is a picture of the koala in his underwear. It's not inappropriate or anything like that. This is a bit harder than Raccoon Rumpus, which i like a bit better. The first one to get 5 outfits wins. Short, sweet and easy! There are two different variations in the directions, but the possibilities are endless with this game. You can place the game pieces around the house, in an obstacle course or hidden to add to the fun of finding the pieces. Let your imagination go wild.

Fun game with a LOT of alternate play options. A lot like Racoon Rumpus!
This is a lot like Raccon Rumpus, only instead of colors, you're looking for more subtle patterns. We love to play this game, but since it's so much like the other game, it doesn't seem quite as fun. It's a pretty quick game to play, probably about 10 minutes maximum usually. There are a lot of different ways you can play this to adapt for older or younger kids or just mix it up for fun.. Because the patterns are somewhat subtle, this card could be harder for younger kids but our 3 year old does fine with it.We always try to come up with alternate ways to play games and here some of them (mix and match game play with options below). (I posted most of these suggestions under my Raccoon Rumpus review as well since they apply the same because the game is so similar.)Game Play (1 & 2 are indicated in the game):1. Play as suggested, with the cards all face up to begin with.2. Play it where the cards are more like a memory game, starting turned over, but players try to get their matching cards based on memory.3. Start with the cards turned over and then when each player takes their turn, they can turn a card over (which will stay turned up) OR go after a card that someone else has already turned over (if there is a match).Options for mixing in to the various game play options:a. Add a bogus player, we have one that we say is our purple stuffed cat (or real cat if she's around at the time) playing the game. She doesn't get a turn per se but whenever anyone lands on underwear, she gets your last outfit card on top!b. Play 'stealsies', where a player can not only play by choosing a card from the board, but may also choose to steal from the topmost outfit on another player's raccoon.c. Lay the cards out in nice straight lines or a messy mix of cards.d. When a player gets a 'top and botton' up on die then only choose one not both (the both option is what is mentioned in the rules).e. Assign points of 1 - 3 for each card (you can use small dot stickers (three diff colors) on the card so colors represent different values to mix it up further with a simple sign during play), to lead to more decision making for older kids. This mixes up the 'stealsies' version and the player with the highest number of points wins vs the most cards.f. Make is so that you have to say the pattern name or find an item around the house that matches.

Fun, simple and fast game, a hit with my kids!
I bought this game as a gift for my sons 3rd birthday. He absolutely adores it. You have the koala bodies and you roll the two large dice and match the patterns and clothing piece to find an outfit for your koala. You can collect one outfit, two outfits, or if you roll the undies you lose all your outfits. The first person to collect 5 outfits for their koala wins. My three year old is not perfect at matching the patterns yet, but just a little help is all he needs, and I am confident it wouldn't take many more rounds before he is an expert. My 4 year old can do it easily. This is a fast and simple game, one round of the game only takes about 5 minutes. I don't mind playing it along with my kids, but it is also simple enough to set up and play that my 3 and 4 year olds can play it by themselves. My 6 and 8 year olds enjoy it as well. There is a more advanced play option that has a memory component added in, but we have not yet tried that, as it would be a bit advanced for my three year old.
