These knives are crazy sharp. This is my 3rd set. I’d say with my frequency of use and diversity of use (cutting boxes, etc.), they kept their utility for about 1-1/2 years. For me the comparison is this expense every 1-1/2 year or so versus buying really expensive knives and taking a master class on sharpening. Also, for me the tipping point was the universal knife block my daughter got me. So you don’t need to keep these sheathed in a drawer anymore.

This is the second set I have ordered. I use these so much, I need two of them because one set is usually in the dishwasher. I cannot find a sharper knife than the little yellow handled paring/utility knife. The other two are great, but the Yellow Handled knife is amazing!!!
