Lovely pictures (no captions, however: site is briefly noted in the index at back)However, the bookbinding detached after the first read-through in a climate controlled environment. It is clear that the job was not done correctly (or the book was improperly warehoused).

Everything on a Salgado book is inspirational. The photographer has a unique sense to compose his photographs within a message beyond the images. I am a big fan of this artist and have almost all his work. Do recommend a movie on his life (la sal du terre). Read a lot of criticisms on his work for the way he exposes crude views of human reality. For a non specialist point of view, he is a poet with light through his camera instead.

The book is a work of art, the black and white photographs are as extraordinary as all of Salgado's work. This specific book gives an inside of the people who, with their own hands, provide us with our everyday coffee. The book arrived in perfect shape, on time and very well packed.

Wish he had put place names on each photo at the bottom. We ended up having to keep flipping to the index to find out where these photos were taken. Other than that, good book.

Bought this for a friend that has a coffee roasting business. He and his wife have visited Costa Rica and hope to see other coffee producing areas in the future. The book is filled with answers to where and how coffee is produced. You will never look at your coffee cup the same way again!

Wonderful book of the author's photographs and the coffee "industry" around the world. Glad to have it!

Too bad you have to go all the way to the end of the (heavy book) to look at the legend of the pictures.

Ich beschränke mich hier zur Bewertung von Lieferung und Service, da Sebastiao Salgado an sich eine Marke von Weltrang ist, von der man eigentlich nie genug bekommen kann oder sollte. Und auch wenn diese Bilder im Charakter nicht direkt an seine früheren Werke anschließen so sind es wie immer Meisterphotographien, die egal wie langsam begutachtet, trotzdem zu schnell weggeblättert sind.Sehr schön zur Schau gestellt in einem entsprechend großen und elegantem Band, den jeder Genießer seiner Kunst einmal in der Hand halten sollte.

A fantastic project about the workers and culture surrounding the cultivation of coffee around the world. Full of compelling images and definitely worth a look.

Just an absolutely amazing book. This will make you appreciate your morning brew! Travel the coffee world & enjoy.... :-)
