Q: Would these be strong enough to use as strings for helium balloons?

No idea I'm afraid - but they are quite smooth - like smooth plastic covered wire - so keeping the string from sliding could be a problem. I've put mine in some coloured bottles and they, in my opinion, look really pretty.

Q: Why does the delivery charge increase by 1.99 with each light ordered? I would assume that multiple lights would be put in the same box.

Hi! One side of the battery box simply slides off. There should be grip lines which demonstrate where you need to pull down. Please let me know if you still can't get in after trying this Thank you Charlotte Lights4fun
