Excellent bag for boating, flying, camping, soccer. We use it for everything.
Boy Scouts Seabase is what we bought these for (a purple and a red one) and it was perfect. The rolling is really convenient and saves my back. So many pockets makes it easy to organize and quickly access where I put passports, snacks, electronics. I’ve travelled internationally with it multiple times. It fits in the overhead of most planes. UPDATE: I've had two of these now for 2.5 years. I've taken them camping multiple times and on international flights and boating a few times and they are both in great shape. The wheels work. All the zippers work. I have to say I love this bag. They are our go to bag for boy scout camping trips where you are close to the car. It's easy to organize things in all the pockets (two on top, four on the sides and one on the front). It opens completely so it's easy to get anything you need out of it. The only time we don't use it is if it's an actual backpacking trip where we need a hip bracing back pack to hike miles in the woods. Otherwise this is what we use. On our seabase trip one of the dads had bought an expensive duffle bag. He ended up having to drag it around while we had the convenient wheels that made life much easier.

EXACT REPLACEMENT FOR MY 15 YEAR OLD DUFFEL
Imagine my amazement when I was able to replace my beloved travel duffel with nearly the exact same model. I had a red version of this duffel for 15 years and found it was my go to luggage piece. It went on the train, on the plane in the overhead compartment, in the car, on our sailboat and in our travel trailer. Yes one of the outside zippers finally broke after about 10 years and the bottom by the wheels did have a few scrapes but none of those issues kept me from using it over and over. The final straw was after my last trip when I was unable to pull out the handle no matter what I tried. Sadly I tossed the bag and went online to find a replacement. I am now the proud owner of a purple rolling duffel and am loading it for a trip to Montana as I write. For $29 you cannot go wrong unless you totally abuse this bag. It does not like to stand up without being propped which can be annoying and yes the handle is a bit shorter than some but it holds a ton of stuff and I find my clothes are less wrinkled in this bag than my hard sided larger luggage. My favorite thing is the top opening which allows you to put this bag on luggage racks or a dresser top and be able to unzip the closure, flip it back and thus have access to the whole duffel. Hard sided bags require you open them like a clam shell which does not work on most luggage racks. Most duffels have a single zipper going lengthwise which makes it very hard to "dig around" in the bag because the two sides of the closure get in the way. I do notice that the canvas body of this duffel is a bit thinner than my old one but I still predict I will get years and years of use from this bag.

Perfect! ...almost; updated review: Five Stars Well-Deserved
In preparation to send my son to college thousands of miles away, I was searching for suitcases big enough to hold his belongings for different seasons, but can be stored away more easily in his tiny dorm room. Rolling duffle bags came up as viable option. At first I fell for the name brand trap and bought a set of Samsonite, a brand I am personally familiar with and thought they'd make good products. To my disappointment, the duffle bag, with big, tapered pockets on both ends, can roll but cannot stand. Therefore, it doesn't stand a chance for easy travel. I ordered this Olympia bag from Outerra Travel Gear as an alternative, and it was delivered promptly as projected. It is lightweight but study. The telescopic handle glides up and down smoothly. The bag is well designed, we were able to fit his winter gears into it. I had a couple of questions for the seller before ordering a second one. The Outerra Travel Gear was responsive and I was able to place the order immediately and it was filled quickly. The bag just arrived and the color and designs are as described but with one defect--the telescopic handle is stuck. When I opened the zipper inside the bag, it was revealed that the reinforced protection rail had a bent on it and the knob was keeping the handle stuck. I quickly contacted the seller. It is late afternoon on a Sunday but I am hopeful the seller will respond ASAP and provide a resolution in time for our upcoming travel coast to coast. Some of you may be wondering why this is a five-star review. I actually started this review after happily packing my son's winter clothes in the first bag, but before the second one was delivered. Imperfection is a part of life's norm. I am not adverse to mistakes or accidents as long as they seek ways to remedy the situation. I am giving this bag and this seller five stars because I believe they will make it right. Update as of August 18, 2026 The seller came through within an hour of my reaching out and immediately arranged to remedy the situation. A replacement is on the way before I had to do anything to process for a replacement. As I type this message in gratitude; the Olympia rolling duffle bag will be here in time for our journey to send our son into a world full of people with helping hands . Thank you, Outerra Travel Gear.

I bought it again....
This is a well made, lightweight bag. I actually had this bag that I ordered years back and it lasted many years as a rolling, just right sized, gym bag. There is a black plastic handle at the end; on the old bag it finally broke from all the lifting out of the trunk/locker (I bring a lot of stuff to the gym; the bag was pretty heavy when loaded). For the years I had it, one of the main zippers of the main compartment (there are two, just like on this bag) failed but the bag was still usable. The main compartment is one big hole; there are no dividers or compartments in it. The extending pull bar also became a bit wonky, but still functional. Considering the use and abuse and the age of that bag, I think it performed well. I notice only one difference/update between this new replacement and that is the compartments on the top of the main flap now have one zipper; the old had dual. In any case, the fact that I've ordered this replacement should say something. The color is not a deep, eggplant purple but more of a medium shade of purple; it looks good. There is no shoulder strap but two great top handles that velcro together, and as I said, the extending fold away pull bar. The pull bar has a zipper flap that conceals it. The side compartments 4, total (2 each side) can hold a good amount of smaller items; grooming stuff, lock, id cards, that sort of thing. One of the zippers on one of the compartments is a little fussy, but I suspect will relax with use and age. The page does not mention a warranty but the card attached states there is a 5 year warranty. About the only thing I would change about this bag is to make the price more competitive with other similar bags by other brands (Rockland).

Good buy
Great capacity and sized within airline size restrictions. Packs a lot of stuff. Wish it had internal straps for holding down the contents. Bit cumbersome when pulling ~ tilts/rotates a lot.

Rugged enough for today's air travel and holds a LOT!
I am almost a professional traveller!! I fly a lot - Usually twice a month or more - usually on Southwest. This 22" bag FITS in their overhead. I recently wandered to another carrier by error, and their economy regional Embraer jet with glove-box sized overheads....that was trouble. I "think" I might have been able to squeeze it in, but I gate checked it instead. For any real airplane, this will fit into an overhead. This is my second, exactly the same Olympia bag - the first going to secondary usage due to some wearing, long term. If I say 3 yrs old, it is probably 5 years old! The end strap handle was cut by something, and I feared it would rip further. And, a fully stuffed end pocket finally developed a failure down at the bottom. The handle and wheels and all else NEVER failed!! So, I chose to buy another to replace the older one. Very high quality - good, strong stitching all around. Plenty of pockets, and the Zippers, wheels, and telescoping handle are ALL heavy duty and strongly built. Excellent value for the money! I highly recommend, you will not be disappointed. My bag frequently is checked...who know what happens down there! I try to carry on....I fully expect another 3-5 years of happy travelling with this bag! Or MORE!

Very good Rolling Duffel Bag - Will work as Carry On or Checked Bag
Olympia Luggage 22" 8 Pocket Rolling Duffel Bag Color: Black Product Overview: The Olympia Luggage 22'' 8 Pocket Rolling Duffel Bag is a very sturdy duffel bag, it's build with decent quality material and every single inseam point and zippers are well built and should withstand long periods of use. The Olympia 22'' contains 8 pockets (compartments) Main Compartment (no internal pockets or dividers internally); 4 Medium Pockets located on the lateral of the duffel bag, being 2 pockets on each side. 2 Medium/Small Pockets located on top of the main compartment; 1 Larger Pocket located at the same extremity where the front and smaller carrying handle is. Other items to consider: Rolling Duffel Bag As stated in the product description, this duffel bag contains a recessed / hideaway pull handle. As Carry On Luggage (22'' Class) This duffel bag can be used as a Carry-On Item in most large / international flight routes. As stated in other Amazon Reviewers, I would not advise to have this duffel bag 100% full or you may encounter problems placing your bag on the overhead storage compartment. Checked Bag Since I purchased this bag earlier in August 2015, I made a round trip flight from US to Argentina and decided to check this bag to test its durability and how sturdy was its construction. As results, even though I had to take 5 flights on my way there and 5 flights (6 airports) on my way back, the bag made it perfectly. No tears, no broken zippers. Pros: Well built bag; Can be used as a carry on or checked luggage; Sturdy construction; Will hold a very large amount of items and weight. Has a built in card / identification storage with easy access and protector screen. Cons: Minor - The recessed in-like skate metal ball bearing wheel system in the hideaway pull handle will constantly 'unlock' the pull handle. If possible, manufacturer should review this minor flaw. Review Summary: I recommend for casual, leisure and business travelers. In it's black configuration the bag looks elegant and discrete. About the Reviewer: Business Traveler, 25% of work load constitutes of International Travel between US and South America. Suitcases and Carry On Bags undergo constant poor/harsh conditions due to multiple airport / airplane connections.

Broken zipper and no response from manufacturer
I bought one of these about 7 years ago, and after 5 years of vacation use, it was looking a bit worn and I ordered a replacement. The zipper on the replacement broke off at the pull after two uses (about one year after purchase). When I contacted Amazon, they referred me to the supplier. The supplier referred me to the manufacturer, Olympia International, Inc, also known as Luggage America. I filled out the manufacturer warranty forms, and got no response to my claim, not even a denial. In the 5 year interim since my first purchase, the manufacturer had made several changes to the hardware, strengthen the bottom with runners vs posts, but obviously using less durable zippers. I was indeed disappointed at the lack of response to an obvious quality of manufacture issue.

Recomendable ampliamente.
