Makes you want to escape to the woods
A young couple who writes and work in the theater industry leave the big city and move to the far reaches of Canada. If you Are looking for tale of struggle and survival, then don't read this book. It's about the good things that living in a remote cabin can bring. The couple often quote writer Thoreau and his time in the woods. It takes place in the early 1950's. The book Reads like poetry and was nice relaxing read. Grab a cup of Pine Needle tea, curl up on your favorite recliner and enjoy this book while the rain pours outside.

Wish I was there
I have read numerous books about homesteading in the Alaskan/Canadian wilderness, but this one stands out. There is a lot of good information wrapped up in an interesting story that, at times, reads like a novel. I guess people who are moved to recreate their lives somewhere in the wilderness have many stories to share. It's nice to read about a time when people had only themselves and a few close others in their world. Smart phones are certainly convenient, but they have robbed us of some things along the way. Reading this book made me wish I was there, with the Angiers and friends, eating bannock around the fire, away from the madness of 2020.

Good read
I really enjoyed this book; maybe because I like that kind of book! It could use a proofreader, though.

Real Life in the Woods with a dash of Thoreau
Well-told story of leaving the hustle of city life to step into the wild to find real life.Reminder that by slowing down and spending time in nature, our minds, bodies, souls can heal and fully come alive!Easy read for anyone who has ever pondered what it would be like to build your own cabin and live off the land.

If you dream of living in a cabin in the woods.
I bought this copy for my son who loves to explore the woods and ledges of wild country. Now he takes his oldest son also, and I knew he would enjoy this story of a couple who go beyond the telephone wires in Canada to live in the wilderness.

Great Read!
I got this book out of curiosity because of wikipedia and couldn't put it down! I just had to buy Walden to see what they were talking about! I would recommend this to anyone and everyone!

AT HOME IN THE WOODS!
This book starts out a little slow, but eventually you will wake up with the book on your face because you fell asleep reading it and got so wrapped up in it.At Home in The Woods was written in the '40's,but is still revenant today! It has inspired me to go out to British Columbia and visit the settlement of Hudson's Hope in 2016!I'll let you know how it goes!
