Simple install, quality product made in the USA, and works GREAT!!
Although this hitch tightener is more expensive than other options, it is heavy heavy, made in the USA, and works great! This is definitely a case of getting what you pay for, in terms of functionality and quality.I put it on the factory hitch of my 2018 4Runner, and had to install it a little differently than the instructions call for, due to the way hitch is made. Rather than grinding on the safety chain loop as another 4Runner owner/reviewer mentioned (no bueno, IMO), I inserted the U-built from underneath, and right through each of the safety chain loops. The round bar fastens on top of the item in the hitch, as normal after that. Tightened the nuts, and it is SOLID. 👍👍

Full size for easier install and great directions
This anti-rattle clamp is wide enough to easily fit over the wide reinforced section at the end of the hitch receiver and use in locations where most hitch clamps cannot fit. Very well packaged and with instructions that include photographs.I like the approach of first tightening the first two nuts on each side and then when they are tight adding the split washers and second pair of nuts. With a 7/8" deep socket I was able to attach it in a couple minutes and it works perfectly.

Sturdy and way better that those plate clamps
The concept this uses makes so much sense. It pins the shank down with pressure. No more shank bouncing in the receiver when loaded, no rattle when unloaded. Solid parts, good finish. Sure you might be able to cobble some hardware parts and "make" something similar, but I'll bet it doesn't fit like this does. Forget those plate styles that will flex & bend over time. I use this with an AlumaTow 6" drop hitch, and a Reese 15K WD hitch, it snugs both of them up tight. The 1 thing I will note is the last nut tends to get groves in it from the lock washer and when swapping can nick your hand. Could be me putting too much force in it or metal hardness variations. If I end up replacing the nuts I'll go Stainless.

Too large to catch lip on Toyota receiver!
We installed on 2019 Toyota 4Runner. This clamp is too large to catch on bottom of receiver-in either orientation it slips off the edge of the receiver while tightening (while scratching hitch receiver's finish to bare metal)Can be installed through safety chain bar as other reviewers have noticed, however only one bolt will thread like this and it bends/flexes the welded safety chain bar and will likely cause more damage over time.Seems to be very rugged, but it is not a universal fit for 2" tow hitches.

Still another update, 4 years later
This clamp has now been in use for several thousand miles, elevating its’ “social status”, now located on the receiver of a much bigger diesel pusher coach, towing a heavier SUV.It is still performing flawlessly, keeping things rigid and quiet back there. It has been removed and re-installed countless times, and I did find a couple new nuts and lock washers, the only items that showed any corrosion/wear...Originally I thought $18.00 was a bit much for a glorified U-bolt; however, amortized over the last four years, it was well worth it, even at twice the price. Unless I get careless and leave it lying around somewhere, I see no reason to ever buy another...

Ignore the Price, Get it.
This is one hefty, strong looking item. It has 3/4" nuts on it vs. 9/16" nuts on an identical looking one I own. I like it better than another design that bolts perpendicular to the shank. This one bolts at an angle to the shank, and has one friction surface on the shank vs. the other design, which has one on the shank and one on the receiver. I believe it is a more positive clamping action with less movement. I own both types. Price is up there, but you get what you pay for, in my opinion.

Works like a charm!
I bought this to put on my Kuat bike rack, which is on the back of my Subaru Outback. Even with the proper size hitch and receiver, the rack rattles around, especially on dirt or bumpy roads. Once I put this on, however, the rack is rock solid and very stable. No more knocking the bikes around!

Heavy Duty American Made product
I have built a few hitch rattle stoppers out of U Bolts and channel stock, but didn't have time to build one so bought this one. What was I thinking that I could build a better mouse trap? This thing is pure heavy duty. No slip and no rattle. Truck camper & extended hitch has three rattle stoppers, two hand built * this one. I will replace the other two with Hitch Clamp. Made in the USA.
